Ah, just came across this retriever thread! Got my pup about a month ago:

As you can see from the pic the pup's male tongue.gif Happiest pup I've met (and I've met quite a few in the course of doing dog rescue and foster work) and a total goofball. He certainly demonstrates the intelligence expected of golden retrievers (taught him to sit in less than 5 reps) but above all, I love him because he's an absolute sweetheart who looooves people.

Anyone knows how much a 3-3.5 month old GR is supposed to weigh? My Dunkin's only 9kg and my dad insists he's underweight but when I took him to the vet for his vacc the vet says his weight's fine :S

Where can I find a nice GR puppy? Anyone know any reputable breeder? My colleague is looking for one.

By the way, what's the price of a GR with MKA and one without MKA? Price difference? Cause if not MKA'ed, cheaper, then better for my colleague.

I think it's about time to change because GR are big dog and they generally need more nutrients to protect their bone and body, so it's better that you change now rather than sticking to puppy food. 10month onwards can change already.

For large breed such as golden and labrador, we normally stick to puppy dog food until the dog is about 1 year and 6 months to 2 years old.

Then only we shall change to adult dog food.

Wa... so fluffy.

This is my golden retriever puppy at 12 weeks. I think he's a bit on the underweight side? He's a bit more fluffy after a bath though... lol

With my current schedule, I feed him twice a day. Once morning, once night. This way I can make sure he goes potty before I go for work. Biscuits snacks in between. The amount I feed him is as much as he can eat in 5 minutes in his bowl. Should I feed him 3 times?

I'm just afraid he might lose what he learnt for his potty training as he is still considered as half trained. Some advice please?

Big bone dog also probably means more to carry when they are old. If I want a GR, I probably settle for a normal instead of big bone. Big bone also cause their jaw bigger, thus drool more. I read this somewhere on the Internet.

Choosing puppy, for me is always the most active, nasty but not behaviour problem dog. The most active will often result the most fun to be with, rather than the loner, drawback, go to the corner to sleep type.

about the dog nose hard to decribe here....
i will post example of nose will cause the beauty look of GR when im free....

sleep aside normaly ppl will think as sick dog or cacat dog...
but many breeder told me as im oso a breeder as well....
the dog sleep aside the body structure will bigger than the active dog in childhood....
if u reali survey....u will see that the normaly the 1st born of will bigger size....most of them will hav tis behaviour sleep after eat

if u still not blieve i can personal lend a book written by a AKC guru, inside got said about tat.....

other mistake tat is ....most of the GR owner will pump their dog as much as can....
hope their dog growing as big as can....acuali thse im not agree about that...
in the month after 3....the size of of puppies will growth so fast....
in that age is the most active in dog life...like running ....
but the fast increase of weight and excess exercise...will easily cause the joint problem...
