Try getting A/D from the vet clinic to feed or if you want, can feed her boiled chicken since your puppy is still recovering.

Hope this helps smile.gif

For large breed such as golden and labrador, we normally stick to puppy dog food until the dog is about 1 year and 6 months to 2 years old.

Then only we shall change to adult dog food.

can someone advise me regarding license for my retriever.... my neighbour likes to irritate n provoke my dog till he barks non stop... once my aunty sounded tat guy but he warned my aunty by sayin 'i know wat to do wit ur dog'. i scared he mgt do somthin to my dog. i wud like to lodge a police report but my retriever has got no license in d 1st place.... my neighbour is a doctor n i scared he mgt poison my dog... can someone advise me....pls.

Go and apply the license for your dog at the council in your area. Bring along the vaccination card too.

Then, get to the police station to file a report about the threatening statement made by your neighbor. So if *touchwood* that anything happened to your dog, the police report that you have made earlier will turn him as the first suspect.

If this neighbor of yours is beside your house, you can consider of fencing / building up the wall in between two of you so that he wont be able to provoke your dog to bark. This may cost some money though.

An alternative way would be to keep your dog inside the house when you know the timing that the neighbor would be in the house.

Hope this helps. blush.gif

The license can be applied at your council there.

You will have to renew it one year once. It is RM 15 for each license.

Yea, Brownie is our beloved dog and we hope she grows healthy. Please do teach us or feedback us what is happened and what should we do then?
Thanks a million.

Have you been deworming Brownie then?

When the dog is not being deworming routine, he / she may grow thin.

Furthermore, are there any changes of her diet / environment or her behavior?

Hi there, we dewormed for her heart every month, but the stomach had been done for once when she was in the breeder's hand. Her diet is reducing, and can't finish the food always.

Do you think we should deworm her stomach? or there's any other matter that causes her like this?
*
Heartgard only deworms 3 type of worms for intestines and heartworm.

I would suggest you try to deworm her with pills according to her weight of 1 pill = 10kg.

Normally when you bring her for vaccination, the vet should have done deworming for her too.

Does she has any attractions of snack or other food instead of dog food?

Hi Junnie, for the pill is it pink in color? My vet only did vaccination for 10 diseases. Bsides the heartgard that i gave 1 pc every month, no other deworming has been done on her since we got her from the breeder.

Yes, she is more interested with canned food rather than kibbles. But I cant feed her too much on canned food right? So I just fed her once a week mix with kibbles.
*
Try getting pill from pet shop for deworming. 1 pill is for 10kg.

There are few types of deworming pills in the market, hence they comes in different color. If possible, try source for Drontal.

Deworming her will ensure that she will have a healthy growth.

Then canned food would be one of the cause that causes her to be picky; loss of appetite.

What you can do is, scoop one teaspoon and mix it with her kibbles thoroughly, feed to her and see if she takes it.

If she does, do that for every meal and then slowly reduce that one teaspoon to half and then to quarter, and next, only kibbles.

As she normally does not finish up her kibbles is because she is waiting for her one day of canned food with kibbles. Hence she rather eat less for the 6 days and eat more on the 7th day whereby she can have her canned food with kibbles.

OMG!! Yunnie, my Brownie is way too intelligent =.= I've mixed the canned food with the kibbles as well as the deworming pills and gave her just now. U know what, she just lick all the canned food on top of the kibbles, some she eaten and split it out after licking all meat =.= I really got no idea of how to feed already. Let's see whether she will be having appetite on kibbles or not after taking the pills...
*
Hi Kent,

You should mix the canned food with the kibbles and put it on top of the kibbles.

Once you mix it with kibbles, she has no choice but to eat the kibbles along.

If she doesnt take the pill, smash it and put it in the kibbles mix canned food then.

Ya Junnie, I've mix them both, but she still will spit out the kibbles after the tongue cleaned the canned food =.=
I've smashed those pills and mixed well with the food..But the problem is, I've found she is more on attracted to canned food than having worm in the stomach =.= I really need to have patient to mix the kibbles and canned food then slowly reduce the canned ald. Or else, her fur will drop like hell..

War against picky eater.. blink.gif

You can try this..

Soak the half of the amount of the dog food with the canned food, then mix with the dry dog food and feed to her..

See if she still can choose one by one or not.. sweat.gif

Oww, which means I soak the kibbles with water 1st to soften it, then only mix with the canned food?
*
Let's say normally you feed her one scoop of kibbles.

Take half a scoop, mix with canned food and then soak with water.

Once you see the kibbles are soften, mix with the other half scoop and feed to her

Hey Yunnie, what do you think about the BARF - Raw Food? I heard there's alot of positive feedback on that. Any opinion??
*
I guess we should proceed with discussion through pm afterall, this thread is about retriever.

Well, there are lots controversial argument regarding this issue.

Some said it is better than dog food as it is prepared from fresh food compared to dog food which needed to be processed.

Some said it is an imbalance diet as it is difficult for us to judge whether the amount of nutrients provided from Barf is sufficient or vice versa.

Well, not all dogs can take raw too. My husky vomit when she eats raw meat.

The most important is your dog is being healthy with the diet that you are feeding; whether it is dog food or Barf.
