Fargo - A quirky, oddball, darkly funny crime drama. Just flat out brilliant. The characters, while not really the type you can connect to, are extremely interesting, and the writing is top-notch all the way. Funnily enough, I think the much lavished performance by Frances McDormand is the least among the others here, though that could be due to her character being the least interesting. Still an amazing movie though. The Coens sure like to write characters who like to get in things way beyond them and f*** it all up, and no one writes like they do. I need to watch more Coen films.

Mulholland Dr. - Not as weird as I thought it would be (it's more confusing), but its great. I think I understand the film as a whole, but there are bits and pieces which I have no idea about and go nowhere in the film. I'm beginning to really like David Lynch.

Woot just finished watching Gran Torino directed by Clint Eastwood starring himself. 8.5/10 for me. Definitely a good drama smile.gif . For those who like action throughout this might not be the show for you. Now get the F out of my lawn. vmad.gif

Just saw Revenge of the Fallen. Unfortunately, the feeling and experience of the first one didn't hit me after the second one. I was very underwhelmed. The only things good about the movie were the action scenes and the CG effects. Props to ILM. As for the rest, didn't really like it all that much. I'm sure TF fans would beg to differ. Oh well.

Last movie watched at home: One flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Its a drama comedy about a guy who went into a mental institution only to start a renegade against a strict nurse. A great acting from jack nicholson and the gangs (danny devito, christopher lloyd) as mentally retarded. smile.gif

no spoiler follows, but i need to say the ending is both uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time.

Jack Nicholson is ...... AWESOME.

Coraline - I thought it was quite entertaining. It isn't what it looks like though, it was quite thrilling and horrifying at some scenes. Music was great, in fact that's the only playful side of the movie me finds. Selick is really the 2nd Burton.

Transformer 2

Pro
LOUD! (Good sound effects). Visually EXPENSIVE!! This time you can tell the difference between the Deceptorcons (or however you spell them) and Autobots when they fight.

Con
A recruitment drive for the US army!!

Final Words
Very much like a McD meal, you think you're full, but it's all empty carbs and fat!! A 2:30 hours movie, that could have easily been done in 1:30 hours....

Yes, love Stardust too. I like Neil Gaiman's work (Sandman issue #50, if you can get a copy, grab it)

It's the 2000's version of Princess Bride (if only they get the Blu-Ray transfer right!!)

Added on June 24, 2009, 9:48 pmMy Bloody Valentine 3D

I just saw this on DVD

How the Heck did they show this in Malaysia's cinema!?!

The open credts and then the end credits!!!!!!? Unless you are a Jensen Ackles diehard fan, don't worry about this!!!

Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist - Cera is really becoming one of my favorite actors. If him and Page had babies, let the first child be a feminine one so I can have first dips.

The last movie I watched was "Drag Me to Hell".

Quite a weird movie la, in my opinion. It was really scary (couldn't sleep for a lot of nights afterwards, imagining the floor opening up and dragging me down to hell) but it was also very intentionally funny. Heh..
