I’m using WD512AN and my recent 1+1 year service package ended. Wanna ask if there’s any package that I can subscribe to that’s worth the value?

I bought my unit outright with 1 year service then I got a promo of 1+1 year regular service previously.

Otherwise I just scrap my entire unit and get a rm50/month rental package seems more worth if the cost of service is high. (Kinda suck that I can’t buy my own filter to service for my model)

WD512AN is older model without self sterilisation, hence the need for onsite service.

There's purchase outright option for AC under LG Puricare, but u may find the same model at retails stores like Sen Heng, Harvey Norman etc. and find ur own technician to service them

I'd say the cost is higher if u rent with LG Puricare (Rm4800 = Rm80 x 60 mths)
If u buy it from stores and arrange ur own service, the total cost is only about Rm3550 (Rm2300 + (Rm250 x 5 services))

Higher by Rm1250 over the same 5 years period (Rm250/yr), but pros of renting with LG Puricare is that u avoid the situation where technician and store pushes the responsibility away when issue arises.

I.e. let's say the AC is not cool, and u ask ur technician to check, they might say the unit is defective and ask u to claim warranty from the store; but when the store's own technician visits to check, they might say ur technician broke it when they service it pulak, end up both sides don't hold themselves responsible and u won't know wat to do

It is launch. The model is cater for hot and ambient watter only.

New model is out, LG WD210

Roughly the same as WD518, mainly no cold water, no moving tap and smaller size

Oh and what's the difference with the old model? Is it cheaper rental per month as compared to the old model since no cold water and no moving tap?

Rental starts from Rm50/mth ya, so Rm10 cheaper than 518

If u are existing customer, or would like to subscribe 2 or more products, the price goes down further to Rm40/mth

Some differences:
1. Smaller size at 132W x 358H x 230D
2. No auto moving tap
3. Cannot be installed horizontally
4. Hot water (40°C, 70°C and 90°C) and room temperature only (no cold water)
5. Can save up to 4 favourite settings
6. Can change 3 mood lighting colour (pure white, cream white and warm beige)
7. Button is on top of the machine, not at the front part like 518
8. Filter cover is located at the side

The more important ones are item 1~3, the rest are only aesthetics or more or less like 518

May i know does 516 self service rental 7 years still has the rm10 discount?
Does the piping need yearly replacement as well now?
At the end of 7 years does LG has trade in program like the other korean brands? thanks

Yup, promo still ongoing

The internal piping of all models no longer need to be replaced annually now, as they are all now made of stainless steel, plus there's auto internal sterilisation every week

No trade in program ftm, not sure if LG will introduce it

And may I know how much is the self service cost for wd216 model? Tq

LG don't ask whether u have the machine when u buy the filter, but I have not experienced this

Probably go for wd216 model since family don't drink cold water, in that case outright or rental better?

216 now only white color got stock left (unsure when u book will have any left or not), other colors no more stock cuz LG want to phase it out soon

If rental, total cost over 7 yrs will be Rm3,360 (40*12*7), free 7 yrs filter and 7 yrs warranty

If buy outright, there's a Rm800 off promo now, total cost over 7 yrs will be Rm3,190 (2800-800+1190), 7 yrs filter and 1 yr warranty

Both 216 and 210 also no cold water, if 216 all color stock out, can consider 210, rental starts from Rm50 also

If 216 no stock maybe will consider 516 since it's also 50/month.
Btw may I know what's the step to buy the 5 years filter package?
