QUOTE(acbc @ Jan 7 2024, 01:35 PM) Owner or tenant still the same. The billing is tied to the premise address and lot number. THISThat's why don't simply buy lelong properties as it may came with bill shock surprises. I know someone who bought a condo unit in the lelong market received a bill shock of over 50k in MC maintenance bills. one need to do basic checking at JMB office otherwise surprise pikachu lah what else |

I believe the guy bought a terrace house. Probably low cost unit.
Like in USA those USD 1 houses. It is big and you have yard and all that. But then it comes with city fees/ tax that costs a lot. Japan too has those free to cheap houses also. But here the cost to transport things and renovate is very expensive. again taxes is another matter. |

This is why i don't like to rent to tenants
I had multiple tenants don't pay or don't pay the whole amount Yes, I know you are supposed to change TNB to tenant's name when u rent. But it's still a hassle dealing with tenants Some older houses have their meter inside the house, so officer can't intrude to cut supply if no one at home. Normally tenant will just ignore and hide inside house if they see TNB officer |

I have a friend that lost his family home this way also. I did not know that their house was funded by his late mothers pension. Later she died due to kidney failure. And the house is no longer financed. I think their kids all have their own homes and family and decide not to help keep the house. End up kena lelong. |

TNB is managed by jokers … too many leakages … if managed by proper team, their share price will profit will skyrocket …

Whoever has the need to use the house eventually have to bear the cost of reconnection. Legally the fee is owed by previous owner/tenant, but TNB cut the power just the same and won't reconnect until the debt is settled. So the new owner cannot wait forever so eventually is forced to pay.
If someone knows a trick that can convince TNB to reconnect the meter without clearing the past debt due to debt not owed by new owner, please share here. Asking for a friend. |
