Owner or tenant still the same. The billing is tied to the premise address and lot number.

That's why don't simply buy lelong properties as it may came with bill shock surprises.

I know someone who bought a condo unit in the lelong market received a bill shock of over 50k in MC maintenance bills.

THIS

one need to do basic checking at JMB office

otherwise surprise pikachu lah what else

yeah but in this case, since new owner win the bid, TNB will waive for premise only. old owner still owe TNB 21K, still need to pay, old owner couldn't make any new connection untik 21K settled.
*
as far as I can remember

no reconnection will be made UNTIL the previous hutang locked on the premise settled

dunno if they change to rules now

TNB can change name and start new account as long as you are the legal new owner.
The previous debt will always be accounted to the previous account bearer name be it ex owner or tenant name.
*
boss, those who bought lelong house, if previous owner got maintenance bill arrears, new owner need to settle also right?

If TNB refuse, you can file a court case to compel TNB to supply electricity to your premise.
*
unless you are a lawyer yourselves, the loyar fees probably more or less than the bill dispute

damn... rent free and utilities free! No wonder the tenant willing to move without much fuss.

But for condo/apartment, remember to check the management fee too. I see some owe manamgent fee up to 50k and got lelong'ed.

yes, only thing is that TNB is not up your ass to claw back the amount due but the address is blacklisted until the bill is settled. Even if you could ask TNB to waive the amount due because its a lelong unit but its not a guaranteed that TNB will waive it.

this is more likely the case. case to case basis I think.
