Thanks everyone for the advice and tips. Spoken with my mother. Prefer Buddhist rite as simpler and not many bilibala things.
Will do it at funeral parlour as my house rather small and neighbours all malays. Best don’t disturb neighbours and I also don’t like many people come to my house.

Ok basically will wait for the funeral parlours people to approach me.
Now I will focus taking care of the livings, like my mother. Rather much I can do for my father already. Can let my siblings take care of him.

Can try contact Kwong Tong funeral parlor at KL. Plenty of space to hold wakes and also parking areas.

I was quoted 5k for grant of probate, include other cost about 7k

EPF gives 2.5k condolences money

Traditions. Everyone'a death experience can be different. Most will return home on week 3 when they start to search for family members and they usually appear at the back of the house, kitchen especially. Thats why we ppl always say the hear something in the kitchen, children or ppl w yinyang eyes say they saw deceased in the kitchen. And some tangki will tell u deceased cannot enter the front door, some cannot enter the back too because of the deities worshipped in the house, the energy too strong or blocked by other ghosts protecting it

They will be outside the house. By 4th week, they're hungry n thirsty. Burn some foods to give out smokes n offer some waters after offered to the Buddha, they will receive it

Sorry to hear that ts. Just sharing my experience last time when my mom passed.

We already approach xiao en beforehand and the total price if not mistaken was around 18k including the columbarium spot. The agent told us to just give him a call when she passed. It is better u approach them and compare prices before hand imo.

After settle the bills with the hospital, the agent told us to go home and they will settle everything. After that we just went straight to the funeral parlour at xiao en cheras.

Everything has been setup for us. We don’t need to do anything except entertain the guests. Also the funeral parlour is comfortable with air conditioned and a place to sleep and shower if you’re planning to stay overnight.

Some weird stuff did happened at night but that is a story for another thread lol

I assume u have very big role on this, u need spread the news widely to your social circle , provide closure , settle inheritance issue and so on.

Thanks. Yea kinda already discussed with my siblings high level how to run it but still depends on me.
Not much inheritance. Just want to make sure he doesn’t have any financial products under his own name. So far all joint owned with my bro and I don’t have any intend to get the that money.
