Flimsy? If anything, USD forks are meant to be more stiff since you are clamping on the "bigger" end of the fork. Doubt I would really notice any difference though.
What did you do to your bike today?, Or quite recently...

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Mar 24 2025, 04:02 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Swaped in a set of UG USD forks on my V1 Dominar. Also changed the stock 2 pot axial front caliper to the UG's 4 pot radial unit and a new front mudgard along with the triple clamps. The Dominar rides like a new bike now. Steering bearing and forks seal busted, so it's a night and day difference. Yes, the front wheel and brake disc spins the wrong way around (since the UG has brakes the other side of the bike) but I'm nitpicking. Will have to rotate the front tyres to the right rotation. QUOTE(mADmAN @ Mar 24 2025, 05:59 PM) model code for the newer version of Dominar, like I think D400 UG or something.... |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Mar 24 2025, 05:59 PM) UG is the "upgrade model" ..aka V2. 2021 I think. There was 4 versions of of Dominar. The original 2018 V1 (black wheels, dark silver frame, bronze engine cases) The late 2019 V1 facelift ( blacked out engine cases/black frame and gold wheels) The 2021 UG with upgraded forks, upgrade to DOHC head and +5hp and 4 pot radial brakes, with other improvements like gear indicator and improved mirrors. Then 2023 we got the Dominar touring model with bigger windshield, tail rack and pannier stays, different lower cowl and bigger crash bars as standard. Mine is the 2019 V1 facelift. after 12 years, the chain guard on the versys 1000 has rotted, hardened and broke into pieces. pretty common for MK1 Versys 1000s
The full chain guard vs what was left on the bike lol since gotta open up the front sprocket cover, of course will clean up la.. quite abit of chunks from the old chainguard in the area. cincai do coz i dont really have the proper materials..only had some leftover wd40 and old toothbrush before n after before and after installation and of course.. the gunk during cleanup. 4 pairs of plastic gloves n my hands were still dirty lol This post has been edited by mADmAN: Apr 13 2025, 04:51 PM |

Slapped on a new Pr6 after the last one lasted 26k on the NK.
Went back to OE size of 180 from the 190 I was running. Nice to have new rubber. the 180 actually has a bigger contact patch so feels like more grip all over. the 190 i was running was crimped by the not wide enough wheel (5.5", you need 6" to run a 190 ideally) leading to a very steep profile. Great for turn in, but bad for everything else. Peg limit = 10mm chicken strips. The 180, its up to the edge without even trying. Can utilize even more of the stickier edge rubber during cornering This post has been edited by jaycee1: Apr 25 2025, 05:01 PM |

Installed new rizoma styled mirrors for the z9. Old one's mirror is basically loose n threads stripped so doesnt stay in place anymore. I do love these style mirrors n they are functional for me...but absolutely hate the installation coz of all the damn screws u have to loosen n tighten just for the adjustments. Old mirrors...the arms were originally black...gotta love china anodizing cawan liked this post

Anyone with experience on Putoline oil filters?
Just got a HF204 for my bike, next to the Kawasaki oil filter from Kawasaki Serdang, it's a bit shorter but feels slightly heavier in hand than the Kawasaki one. The build quality also seems to be on the better side, the casing is noticeably sturdier and the O-ring also thicker and looks to be in pristine condition, whereas my Kawasaki one looks to be drying out. Even the packaging is better, the Kawasaki one is packaged in loose plastic where the Putoline is airtight. Makes me wonder if the one sold by Serdang motorcycle is not genuine or it's really that poorly made. |

The shop i got mine from even told me they cut a putoline n an ori kawa (that was still made in thailand at the time) n said the phtoline filter material seems better....althoug i didnt see it myself. Ive used it a couple of times then switched to HAMP filters for awhile. Serdang motorcycle sells ori filters n its where i get mine from for both my z9 n v1k. They are official kawa dealers n selling fakes will get them in alot of trouble with hq. |

I have those winglet mirrors on my NK. Even the larger of the 2 common ones are too small. Looks wise i think they are ok. Just the size and they dont stick out far nor high enough leading to huge blindspots behind you. kapchais just disappear behind you.Wanna find other mirrors but havent seen anything that interests me...the current winglet, downforce mirror trend only looks good on sportsbikes...on nakeds its looks bad imho There is a new design recently out which is a derivative of those winglet designs but with bigger mirrors. Might buy a set and try them out. ![]() I would have liked to keep the stock mirrors on my NK. But unfortunately they don't work for me. If I adjust my lever angles to the correct angle, they run out of vertical adjustments and all I see is sky. This post has been edited by jaycee1: Jun 5 2025, 12:03 PM |

To be honest, on the Dominar, i woudn't care less what oil I use. But the ester based 15w50 full synth Mizu seems to prevent viscosity burn off better than the motul 5100 semi and the factory bajaj 20w50 mineral oil, which needed a top up before next oil change.Anyway, I am treating my bike as an experiment now, let's see if using cheap offbrand oil/filter like Mizu + Putoline will break the bike, although I am fairly sure the bike will outlast my patience given my 5K yearly mileage... That said, i would use a more reputable brand on my 800NK (motorex) JustForFun liked this post

QUOTE(paskal @ Mar 19 2025, 01:11 PM) triumph tigers is using 7.48mm shims which is the same size used in Ysuku Y15, Y16, honda RS, RSX, and yamaha LC and other kapcais. only RM4 each and easily found in kapcai spare part shops. A crack had started to form at one of the seam welds on the exhaust header, causing the exhaust to pop when throttling off at high RPMs. RM150 to spot weld. Fugly but it's a commuter bike so who cares. Nice to see your valves so clean. After cleaning and re-oiling the K&N filter, I ran 2 bottles of injector cleaners in 4 tanks of RON97 to keep things clean before sending it in for the major service. |

QUOTE(paskal @ Mar 19 2025, 05:55 PM) ![]() Parts ordered from triumph hatyai. Cheaper than triumph malaysia even after conversion. About 30% cheaper. Triumph won't do my major service if I gave em my HF204 filter. They insist on the original filter. Since I got 2 bikes, might as well stock up some. |

seems you guys talking about side mirror.
isit normal that the side mirror mount is not align both left and right? my side mirror mount right side tilt toward me more since the mount is on the brake pump. causing me unable to adjust better view for close object. my left side mirror mount is also on the clutch lever |
