Currently using WD home edition 1TB connect to Dvico. TS file play like stop play. Don't no is USB or the HDD speed lagging. So now all the HD file in Dvico and those mkv file in WD HDD.

yes. you can.

1st , you need to latest firmware Version: DSM 2.1-0832; Build Date: 2009/03/07,
http://www.synology.com/support/download.p...=enu&m=DS107%2B

2nd :

To enable the NFS service ( at synology->file sharing=> NFS), tick Enable NFS and click OK.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

To assign NFS privileges

2.1. Select the shared folder you want to edit from the shared folder list.
2.2. Click NFS Privileges Setup.
2.3. Click Create to add an NFS rule.
2.4. Enter Hostname or IP (this is refer to your DVICO TVIX player IP address) . You may specify a host in three ways:
* Single Host: The fully qualified domain name, or an IP address.
* Wildcards: *, ?, or *.synology.com.
* IP networks: /255.255.252.0 or /22.
2.5. Assign Privilege ( => set to Read only).
2.6. Assign Root Squash ( =>map to guest)
2.7. Click OK to finish.
2.8. Click OK to apply the NFS privileges.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Tip:

To easily find and access an existing shared folder, first enable the access privileges for account "guest",

3rd, at the DVICO DVIX player,

3.1=> go to setting
3.2 => select one of the network drive => select NFS
3.3=> key in the ur Synology NAS IP address, and the Mount path is /volume1/video ( video is refer to the folder which u had store the movie, u can select any folder u like, I just use video as example)

4. happy enjoy ur video/blueray movie.

Note:
if you select SAMBA protocol, you will facing jacking issue when u playback HD/Blueray movie direct from NAS.
