I bought it at rm725.

no oc just fine...,I mean with the e2140 only 0.1ghz increment + stock speed for gc.but wanna get better fps with my noob rig.

with the 8.1 driver, it runs fine after oc using overdrive, but only 855/2400
i mean, wth...so small overhead room for oc...

gonna try omega driver, but too lazy
maybe tonite

so positive this is psu prob.anyone can confirm?

Let me update some info about my Sapphire 3870 single slot version. Please take note, this graphics card pair with Vizo Propeller fan cooler.

stock idle 43c
stock load 73c (max, log by ATITool 0.27 beta 4, loaded with 3dMark06 for 1 hour plus.).

Do you guys think it is adequate for decent gaming without overclock?

I will try to overclock it and update you guys later.

it's the bios problem.
the bios limit the oc max at 860mhz.
system will crash if you set it over that speed.

solution, flash it with the latest bios (hotfix)

Idle: 48~50C
Load: 70~72C @ 50% fan speed or 68~70C @ 70% fan speed

idle : 54C
load: 65+ C

wahlao....3870 superb. ATI is doing REAL biz these days.

just wanna add, kinda state ur room condition too:

1. air-cond
   
2. big ass ceiling fan
   

do state whether ur room is air-conditioned or not

cas my casing smaller. can put 12cm fans beside the graphic card to blow out the heat

im having problem with my 3870...it seems that when i play certain games,artifact will showed up and the display driver crashed several times...this problem occur when i was playing crysis,CoH and COD4..it's quite irritating especially when im playing CoH on9 -__-

btw my 3870 runs at default clock speed and fan speed is@60% idle at 45c,full load at 62c when playing CoH...so i guess it's not because of the heat problem is it?

Anyway, I can certify the screen blackout problem thingy mostly to do with the Ati driver. I just started from beginning of Crysis played straight away until the "Assault" chapter where you need to take out a few Anti-Air Artillery (AAA) which took me around 3 hours+ of continuous gameplay. I monitor the GPU load and temperature all the while staying around 68~72C. It seems like how I stated earlier, the screen went blank whenever I "view" the explosion of the AAA .

btw, my 3870 iceq idle 41C, load 65-72C, fan 74% (somehow rivatuner can't set to 75% )
but way~~~~ much cooler + quieter than my previous msi x1950 pro.

im using 8.1 too...CCC setting all default....
Tried some adjustment to quality, AF n AA....not much diff in quality in Crysis but reduce the fps alot.

Gonna set them all to use application settings later. I hate the jagged edge on the vegetaion in Crysis...its annoying.

i guess the problem of the HIS HD3870 iceq can be solve if u use 7.11 - 7.12 ati driver.
