just bought his 3870 iceq turbo yesterday.
I have some problem wanna ask about.

I'm using acbel e2 510w.

The card runs ok, but cannot oc it even for a little bit.
For example, when I set core to 860, it started to black out when playing Oblivion.
I mean, it's only 10mhz increment for god's sake!

This is using the 8.1 downloaded from the internet.
But after I uninstalled and cleaned the driver, I tried the driver from the cd.
This time, Ati overdrive pushed the core n mem 890/2570

Again, when playing Oblivion, screen corrupts instantly, but when playing witcher, halfway, then hang.

Does this has something to do with insufficient power?
Or a shi**y mobo?
Cos mine is PCChips, which could only oc my e2140 to a shameful 1.7ghz
Or maybe the driver?

my rig is 1gb + 512mb ddr2, e2140, 1 hdd, 1 dvd writer.

no oc just fine...,I mean with the e2140 only 0.1ghz increment + stock speed for gc.but wanna get better fps with my noob rig.

with the 8.1 driver, it runs fine after oc using overdrive, but only 855/2400
i mean, wth...so small overhead room for oc...

gonna try omega driver, but too lazy
maybe tonite

so positive this is psu prob.anyone can confirm?

the last time I flashed hardware, the hardware crashed and got to RMA.
gotta do some homework

btw, my 3870 iceq idle 41C, load 65-72C, fan 74% (somehow rivatuner can't set to 75% )
but way~~~~ much cooler + quieter than my previous msi x1950 pro.

if memory serves,
mine is 010.075.000.000.000002, or something like that.

too leceh to write down, currently on laptop for surfing, pc's on board lan adapter is broken.

tried everything, only prob when oc'ing
tried omega driver too, but problem is overwhelming, can't even oc 1mhz using ati tray tools

my psu is acbel e2 510w, which I think the max output is 450w (450w true power)

has to make sure what the prob is....

maybe my xp ver is not updated....?
its xp 2 and all, but can't update the latest one
lost the ori cd n had to use jack sparrow's

I used CCC overdrive, 7.12, the one that got from driver cd (forgot what ver), latest 8.1
7.12 n from cd can oc, but blacked out when play oblivion, 8.1 overdrive can't even oc past 860/1195
even 855 clock, mem at stock, cant play oblivion

tried everything, omega driver, ATT, rivetuner.
ATT is even weirder, can't even oc 1mhz, screen blacked out


used driver sweeper, driver cleaner n everything

maybe if I spam ATi with my error report, they will do something bout it.
it says something about 'the gc wont respond to the driver' or something...
but the problem is, my lan adapter is fried.gotta buy new one first.

above all, this is not the reason I buy iceq ver,
so, plz...

sagitarros n butthead too have same prob.

other 3870 can oc kaw2 + play game stable some more.
definitely bios prob.

don't have prob on stock speed like sagitarros, though.

looks like I'm going to have to settle with med-hi settings for gaming this short break if cannot oc the gc + my noob rig....

I think maybe driver@bios prob la...

cos using 8.1, when playin CnC, suddenly screen went blank, fan shot up to 100%(really noisy)
same prob when oc'ing

i've found a lot of ppl having the same prob at other forums, and there's no solution right now.
(accept get a good bios flashed, and I'm not turning my card into a guinea pig, so I'll just wait 4 a compatible one)

back to old driver now, but Gears of war stuttering is back....=.=

I think then main prob if you oc the card
maybe it's bios locked, prob occur when clocked more than the limit

so, should be fine if you use old drivers + don't oc for now

going back to college now, so, by the time I'm back, new bios/driver should be available...hehe
