I honestly don’t think Malaysia has a family book. China has their 户口 which is what I think the site is referring to. Not Malaysia, IINM.

Sorry bro, this one is above my pay grade to answer.

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif It's ok. Thanks for your help anyway. I'm thinking of not attaching anything as although it states required but there's also (if applicable) for this item. Just that I'll feel more at ease if I have at least 1 attachment in each item.

I don't think any country can enjoy visa-free travel to OZ, except for NZ PR/Citizens NZ Citizens only sweat.gif

ETA 601 can be a hit or miss nowadays, too many abusers making it harder for Malaysian Passport holders cry.gif

For tourism visit to Australia, do apply via eta app 1st & complete aud20 per applicant then will receive email requiring to fill up form & upload document via immiaccount website. Remember to login via email link or else you will be charged aud 190 instead of the standard aud20 paid in eta app as it is considered as visitor visa 600 instead of 601(eta).. Was shocked initially. Thankfully visited lowyat & found out about it. Thanks everyone smile.gif

Asking for a friend.

Do you need to show flight ticket during visa application?

Don't book anything before you get your visa! Otherwise if you are rejected, all burnt.

Visa is assessed based on profiling, not your travel arrangements.

Thanks for your reply. For this particular category Document type is "Family Book/Household Booklet/Family Composition Evidence". Further info when I click "?" is "You can provide a copy of your family register book (if your country issues one)."  sweat.gif  sweat.gif Really confused. There's a link for Form 54 but that form is only required for applicants applying from China.

You can list how each applicant is related to you/each other to show that you’ll be travelling together as a family. This info is provided in Form 1554 which also to be attached together with this application.

For ppl who filled the application for visa subclass 601. I need some guidance in the immi website.

There is a part where we need to add our name EXACTLY in our national ID. But the fields is split into family name and given name.

Some I asked say write the whole name in family name and leave the given name field empty.

Some say split the name like how we write in our air tickets. Which is the correct way? I don't want to get refused entry for this.

Already said last name and first name
So your surname is your last name like flight ticket

because i got confused there's an instruction to filled exactly like how it shows in our IC. Unlike US/UK national ID they do show Surname and Given name separately in the ID.

The instructions are very clear. If your MyKad shows Lionel Chia Ah Beng (following standard Malaysian naming nomenclature) then:

FAMILY NAME is Chia
GIVEN NAMES are Lionel Ah Beng

Angmoh style will write your name as Lionel Ah Beng CHIA

Hope that clarifies

I got my 601 approved about 3 days ago. Got a 1 year visa with multiple entry up to 3 months stay. Missed the email until I saw it today. Took about 13 days to process in total. I was quite anxious when I didn't hear back from them 3 days after I submitted the documents. I thought I was banned as I didn't report my departure when I graduated as a student about 15 years ago.

I submitted about 16 documents instead of the required 60? I submitted bank account statements, pay slip, proof of employment, letter from employee, EPF statement and home loan statement.

What I did not submit was family book (tbh, I was quite lazy to dig out and fill out all the information tongue.gif), itinerary and ETA Supplementary Information. I told them that I do not have an itinerary yet as I am planning to visit during the winter months. Though I had filled it out the ETA Supplementary Question, I was not able to upload it as it is an encrypted document and their portal rejects encrypted document.

The strongest supporting document I would say was the bank account statements as I also had term deposit in ANZ and NAB. As well as letter from employer confirming that I am employed, applied for leave to travel and I am covered by company's insurance during my travel.

Staying at friend’s place it should be ok, I feel. Just that they may hold you at immigration slightly a bit longer so that they can call your friend to verify.
