But i think maybe cause i currently already have a running ETA, but expiry in Jan 2024. So had to make new ETA, now it's till November 2024.

My sibling's ETA is the one they asked to submit further stuffs on ImmiAccount.

it's purely random, as there is no logic, based on my experiences with many of my family and friends applying. Having an existing visa does not guarantee approval.

Official statistics revela 3/4 of Malaysians will get called for additional documents, and a quarter get approval instantly (ie the computer algorithm passed the application, as it's too fast to be a human doing it).

it the full $190, and you will have paid the $20 in the App already.

Already managed to get approval 2 months back.
Managed to get 601 through my wife's link. Mine was to 600. 600 costs $190 now.

Sorry for newbie question… what’s the difference between 600 and 601 please?

601 is 12 month multiple entry validity with a max stay of 3 months per entry
600 is 12 month validity without restriction in the length of stay

Yes. The common exemptions are only if you're an Australian citizen (don't need visa), a PR (need a valid RRV - Residents Return Visa, or a valid 5-year PR visa), already have an existing visa that has not expired (either you're on a tourist visa, a student visa, a bridging visa, a work visa etc), or a Kiwi (visa on arrival).

PS - I'm lumping ETA applications in the same category as Visa applications, although technically they are not exactly identical.

Yes, but need ETA ... which, I've modified to add, requires application (and sometimes, additional documents to be submitted). Malaysia also have the same arrangement.

601 is the ETA. (specific countries, list has expanded a lot in recent years, to include most Europeans), $20 via App
651 is the eVisitor (mostly Europeans) free
600 is the normal tourist visa the rest of the world uses. From offshore $190, onshore $475

Everybody (except Australian citizens) travelling to Australia needs a visa.

Singapore is in the ETA list, but the "additional documents" request is only about 2%, compared to 75% for Malaysians. Note that if you are a PR in Singapore, you are still considered a Malaysian.

My trip will be on next Tuesday. It show how times passed quickly. My 601 were applied on September . Can’t wait for trip to Melbourne .

I'm also heading to Melbourne for work next week.
