Apparently since last Friday, if you buy inventory stock Model 3 LR, you can get free colour upgrade. Potential saving up to rm11k. Needs SA to modify backend. I wonder when will the new model Y has such discount, provided if they are in inventory first...

For those who bought Tesla car with cash, can I check if you need to pay for the HP ownership claim fee? I thought this is for those with hire purchase only? Also additional registration fee plus inspection fee, I feel Tesla should have put these expenses on the website when you order like other brand car pricelist. I thought the rm500 Delivery and Admin fee already covered all, plus the booking fee of rm1k.

Anyone retrofitted the model Y with the rear display entertainment screen? Do you know which shop can do the installation?

I just found this on AliExpress: MYR789.98 | New Style 8.66 Inches Rear Display for Tesla Model Y 3 Android 13 WIFI Entertainment Screen 4G+64G Wireles Carplay Andriod Auto

As long the cars are moving fast, no promotion. Expect about October-ish for the bank loan etc to come back.

Hi, I'll be joining the M3 family soon and have a few questions to ask here:

1) Can I just use a portable charger, probably charging around 1.8-2 kWh using a home socket? I drive less than 500 km per month.

1.1) If yes to the first question, can you suggest which portable charger you guys are using? Thanks!

2) Which tinted brand is recommended? Do I have to tint the sunroof, or can I just buy shades for it?

sorry if question repeated, still reading all 74 pages discussion now.

1) Yes. Make sure the socket is not looped or shared. 2kWh is about 10A sustained.

1.1) Since that would be your sole charger, buy Tesla's original granny charger. A bit pricey, but it came with the button to open charge flap.

2) No comment on brand. I did tint sunroof, it's still hot. Get a shade instead and you retain the clearer view during night time. Tint would make it too dark.

Finally, welcome. thumbup.gif

1. If the internal cable is 2.5mm2, it is gonna to put a lot of stress on it for the long term. Why don't just install the wall connector?

2. Tesla Universal Mobile Connector

3. I tint the sunroof, for tint just use your trusted brand... important is proper installer who has experience with Tesla to avoid damaging some sensitive electricals in the pillars. One case I knew was the radio antenna fried at the C pillar, rm2k+ to replace.

1) just charge at tesla destination chargers for free or any available chargers?
just to share, i live in condo, so i couldn't install wallbox or 3pin but my condo did installed chargers (but need to pay). So I rely on TDC if lucky. So far only charged down my condo twice (in a month). I charge once a week.

2) I did my tinting at 3M cheras mahkota, full crystalline except front (ceramic) for smart tag. RM2699.
Depends on your budget, but yeah it will still be hot, so if you cannot tahan, get the shades but i will just vent or turn on the aircon before getting into the car.

I see ppl posting about their driving efficiency rate all the time on sm showing off how they are getting a lifetime efficiency rate something like 100wh/km. My question to all is, is it an ev thing to be so obsessed about driving conservatively. Why buy a high powered Tesla or any other ev make only to drive like that. It sure would be very boring. I wonder if the same ppl share the same concern when driving an ICE car.

Different people, different needs.
Some bought for the brand, some bought for the tech.
Some will test the capabilities limit, some concern for the family safety arrival.

Nothing wrong with it.
