 What to do if TNB did not issue bil?, Missed for 2 consecutive month

Hello...i have a weird problem here...it seems that TNB guy who is supposed to come to my house to read my meter and issue the bill...stop doing so for 2 months already.

Usually by 30th or end of month, I will get my electricity bill but now missed for May and June also.

For month of May...i need to keep on chase and follow up until June 15th only someone come and read my meter and issue May bil. The problem is, my bil become expensive because the usage also counted in additional 15 days in June, and end up i need to pay more due to higher amount charged for higher block of electricity usage.

Now June, also start to miss again. I already submit email help to TNB careline but the response has been slow. At first ask me take picture of my own meter. After that wait 1-2 more days and after i follow up, ask me to provide my phone number and now wait again...

Imagine now i have to chase and follow up for my TNB bill...what else I can do to escalate and complain this issue?

If your meter is smart meter, the bill is no longer coming into your mailbox. It’s in your app. They don’t send physical bill anymore.

For my case, I receive those manual bill until I change to solar and now the bill will appear in app. It is because once I change to solar , the meter is changed into smart meter type.

self reading is not possible because mine is new smart meter... and also I have solar...
if i recall, i did try check to do self meter but that can be done only if you're still using the old meter type right?

I just read back the T&C again


Eligibility

You are Residential or commercial customer with active TNB account
You provide us a valid email address and hand phone number
Your electricity supply is not disconnected
Your meter installation is free from unauthorized access
There is only one meter at your premise
Supply voltage is single (230V) or three phase (400V)
Premise without Smart Meter installation or Renewable Energy (RE) meter.
Account owners. Tenants are allowed to submit reading only if the account owners have successfully applied for SMR
You are able to access to the meter directly

hi Bee, are you referring to MyTNB App? if you refer to MyTNB app, i have also. I also have TNB online account. Same thing, the bill never appear. I need to chase and call customer careline.

Smart meter can check bill dari apps boss. no problem. now i think only kampung area TNB come to check meter.

TNB will just ask you to use the apps. it shows you daily usage as well. there's not much you can do .

Guys... which app are you referring to?

My smart meter not working. I cannot view my daily usage. I already call tnb. They told me my area not supported. The only reason my house change to smart meter is i guess becoz i install solar... else my area all use old meter... i also pening.. nama install smart.. but still not working...

Ehh you install solar on grid with TNB? Maybe meter need calibrate? or you can call TNB to come check meter. complaint meter rosak. if not supported then keep complaint until they come. good luck ts.

p/s: how much cost pasang solar boss?

U have smart meter, solar panel. By right u will have a bill in apps. U not received it, right? That's weird. It bcos u have solar panels?
Is this happen when only u have a smart meter? No solar panel? If u have it, tnb equipment faulty. If not , when u have problem after installing solar panels, that solar panel was culprit.
But yr case is so weird.

Actually now I am surprised he’s on solar and not receiving bill.

From what I know, smart meter is equipped with sim module that transmit data on hourly basis. So u can track ur usage.

So right now it’s something wrong already.

Btw, my cost pasang solar is about 39k. My saving is 99.99% from my usual 650-700 bill.

What type of solar u are using? Self consumption or nem?

Either way, it doesn’t matter. Once it’s one smart meter, it will auto transmit to Tnb. There is no such thing as your place don’t support. Iinm.

Yeah... so actually my case... tnb folks come and change my meter twice. And latest one supposedly got sim capability but really after they install this new smart meter, i cannot view my daily usage via app also. I already call tnb and was told my area not supported so just live with it. But now i think back, my bill not being generated issue started in May.. most likely is after my new smart meter installed...

Tnb also not helping... latest i called recently.. ask me to wait 5 days after month end... as they say sometimes the ppl come do reading can be late... but i already told tnb my neighbors all got their bill already...

Did you opt for e-bill in yr app and therefore no paper bill will be issued. Much easier to just view in app. Save the planet too.

nothing can do until TNB billing department reply or assist you. if it is their system issue, what can u do except reporting? also at most u just have 2 pay 2 months bill in 1 go. if u have any dispute on the bill can always go TNB and "open a case" on it..

Did you drop enquiry via my tnb online?

My mother had a wrong reading 2 months back (above actual usage). I drop enquiry in mytnb online. I got a very quick reply.

Your case does not seem like a normal one la.

You don’t pay more just because they come late. This has been discussed again and again during mco.

But I learned something. I’m also switched to smart meter but never go to know my daily usage. Unlike my BIL’s which I also have the acc in my app. Rupanya still can have reason area not supported lol.

Meanwhile, chase TNB lor. What about your Neighbours?

Im not sure how tnb calculate anggaran bill.
As i aware electric charges is tiered right? What if thr anggaran was overshoot until higher tier so u have to pay more due to tier difference. And next month is actual bill reading say the lowest tier.

So still rugi isnt it?

go check your bill under the column block prorata, if your tempoh bill is 30 days for example your block will be 200 for first tier, 100 for 2nd tier, etc
if your bill days are 60, it will be 400 for first tier, 200 for 2nd tier (example).

your block changes according to your billed days.

Update:

TNB finally send someone to my home to take reading and finally my bill issued. I asked why my house kena miss 2 months in a row. The guy cannot answer me because he told me there's a team of workers and they actually take turns go read meter every month at different housing area.

Just wondering if your bill has become more expensive after changing to smart meter? I've been told the device will somehow make your meter run faster...

one of my apartment have smart meter but cannot access the aps to check it at all.
I think maybe the location of the smart meter may not give enough strong signal to the receiving TNB tower

My office and house all ok, can check daily and even half hourly

idk if it still works like this but some time ago i did this:
tng ewallet app > pay bills > tnb > account number
it tells me how much is outstanding. it doesnt show usage or anything, just outstanding.

Earlier got smartass ask to use app without really understand the issue or maybe i did not write clearly...

Now i already update the final issue and what tnb did to solve my issue and you still can ask me to use app? Hahahahaha

haha... all using latest energy saving and seldom use aircon. Even use aircon, it 5 star rating, matching HP to the room volume plus setting to 25c ~26c
beside we not at home most of the days.. go out very early and come back after dinner only
