Many people got covid previously, so their body is weaker now, many are not aware of this.

Actually no, my father died of a heart attack after a game of badminton too.

That was 15 years ago.

During that time I’ve heard of many cases where people just collapse on the court.

I think the game makes people push beyond their limit

although its an indoor game & play relatively in a small court, the game intensity is hard to control & predict..if u play against competitive opponent the game intensity can easily escalate.. if not fit, 1 competitive round of 21 points is enough to make u flat..there's reason why badminton player train hard for their cardio..

Badminton is a sport for the fit to play. Not to play to fit.

I think this is a case of inconsistency. Play like athlete regularly, body and heart can handle the demand. Play high intensity once a week is asking for trouble especially if you're already middle aged. Sorry to hear about your father.

Malaysia has a long way to go in terms of CPR knowledge as well as availability of AED.

In SG, there is an app for First aid response. Meaning if you Wana volunteer you can just install an app, and when there is an emergency it will alert you if you're nearby.also, first aid training is easily available there and males do NS have to learn also .

AED is available in most public places including HDB. In Malaysia, expensive condo got put AED?

So yes. Knowledge and infrastructure takda. Plus ambulance take longer to arrive also.

True
And I observed this all the time. Most of the weekly players do not do proper and complete warning up. And these people, and the only sports they do is one week play badminton/squash one time.
Once a week pump the heart up like this, plus without proper warm up..... They must really know their limit and listen to their body.

Looks like he's pumping the liver instead of heart.
