Myself i got it nearly 500mbps and wasn't even full strength signal. I believed when it was below 100mbps, it was running witn only LTE band 28.

i beg to differ. Yes i can agree that wireless broadband not as stable as fiber broadband. But due to our  5G infrastructure currently use in Malaysia, we can't go 5G without LTE B28 and it's on NSA mode. Limitation for single band LTE would be 150mbps. As I observed B28 on LTE modem, it matched the speed of 5G modem when it slowed down. DNB guaranteed the minimum speed  of 5G in Malaysia will be 100mbps. I believe it was because of B28 LTE. Should we go SA mode, we no longer need B28 and we should start to use N28 with N78. CA would be possible.

This is my problem as well when I tested between the ZTE and TP Link and on the TP Link, I can even hit 650Mbps... Unfortunately, I had to return it back to my office, but it tells the tale of different modems used.

Man never knew the model supplied by uMobile for their 5G plans would be such problematic modem. The one unifi providing for their customers using a legit 5G chipset from qualcomm. Never encounter any issues in terms of overheating with the model so far. At least they dont supply rubbish router like what they are doing for fiber users.

I think I will submit a report for MCMC already, cause previously on a good day with 888S I can get 2XX Mbps, lately its just wood speed.

i am currently living in a 2 storey terrace house. Just bought TP Link X50 - 5G (U Home 5G plan). TP Link X50 is placed in my room 2nd floor, averaging speeds are around 650mpbs to 800mpbs ++.

however, 1st floor speeds are averaging between 20 to 30mpbs only. Likewise, i am using 4 mesh in total: 1 TP Link X50 - 5G and 3 Deco E4 mesh(1 situated in 2nd floor living hall and the other 2 mesh situated at 1st floor) could any sifus advise any solutions....so much difference in speeds across both floors tqtq

Hi all, I am interested to sign up for U Home 5G. But I need some advices on this plan.

1) Is torrenting possible? Or U Mobile straight up prohibits that?
most ISP and telco bans torrent, only few lucky let you use it...gave up torrenting many years ago
2) Is the free 5G modem provided constantly below 100mbps speed? Any other issues with the modem?

3) Has anyone exceeded the monthly FUP? If yes, is the speed still usable after exceeded FUP?
not sure how someone can exceed using 999GB
4) Does termination within contract period need to pay the remaining months as penalty fee?

5) Can I insert other Telco 5G sim card into their modem?

The SIM was already active, i used it on my phone for hotspot, no problem.
After a week or so then i decided to get the modem. So the problem is from the modem, not SIM card

Already did that, its say SIM not detected, i inserted the SIM correctly, there's only 1 way to insert the SIM card into the modem.

I went back to the U-Mobile booth and ask them to use another SIM to try, same issue. Most likely it's modem issue

Finally found a good spot in my house... wonder why ppl still pay 3 digits for internet... maybe for torrent but I already stop torrent for many years

Do you really get good ping with gaming though? My son said his Roblox is less laggy now with 5G

nah... been using 5G for months... this is not 4G... speed exceed 300mbps most of the time even on bad days...

Just got the UM68 plan with router. I took the ZTE C888S router.

However the speed I'm getting is only about 50mbps. This is after I connect to 5GHz wifi. If connect to 2.4GHz I will only get 25mbps.

I check from cellmapper, there are 2 towers start with 703 within 500m to my house. There are no building in between, the first tower is on private hospital and the second tower is on indoor swimming pool. I'm on fifth floor and my building is the tallest. No other building blocking the path.

What else can i do? I don't expect to get 300mbps but I read 5G DNB should be minimum 100mbps.

I tried locking 4G band 28, but no difference. In fact download suffers and drop to 20mbps.

Appreciate any pointers.

By the way. Majority has this problem or just few unlucky  one?

- Modem frequent reboot
- Connection frequent disconnect.

tried downloaded the 13GB file from MY server - success. finished within 15-20 minutes or so. best download rate at 4MB/s. average around 3.8MB/s

however, the 100GB overseas server, that one estimated to finish around 11 hours , running at 500kB/s at best.
cancelled downloading after reaching 5.5GB after 30minutes. 

but i did try open running Youtube, run speedtest and surf /k at the same time. No auto reboot so far 

maybe Umobile has upgraded or did repairs at the nearby 5G tower, who knows?

running uptime is now at impressive 42 hours.

not bad ZTE MC888s.

now the download will take like 2 days @ 32kB/s to finish LOL.

Btw, i realized that umobile at my parents' house in Klang is now only at 4G+, after i checked inside router status.
You guys can get 5G connection as per normal tonight?
