been trying kaon modem, sux. can't even get 5G. speed 10mbps. after that i reboot the modem. then can't even get in to webui. page blank. reset the modem. now stuck at detecting sim. click start, still back at that page. tried reset few times. give up.

by the way, kaon modem uses customized firmware for U Mobile. not much thing can do. can't off wifi, can't lock band.

1 thing good about this modem that it has bandwidth limiter for each user. also has parental control but that just filtering url.

i still have the faulty zte modem. now use only 4g. no modem reboot if just 4g. at lease i can get max 80mbps, min 30mbps.

Yes. ZTE can be unlocked. LOL if i know the code, i won't be telling anybody. Will make business out of it

Technician friend of mine said Kaon also can unlock. Even replace the U Mobile firmware. He has way to do it. He just don't have the original firmware.

Just wanted to share you guys update on my ZTE MC888s used back in my home in Jitra Kedah.

5G tower just ~600m from my home, ZTE placed not near window, middle of living room, signal is about ~-104dB with 4 bars.
average speedtest DL ~400Mbps UL ~100Mbps.

but with all that speed, reliability is still crap; it will auto reboot. 

longest uptime record was 40 hours, which is way better than my parents' house in Klang Selangor.

so conclusion, the provided ZTE MC888s router by Umobile is not reliable.

it's suited for short usage only; bring it for outstation, back to hometown, etc.

if you thinking of using it for long hours without interruption (auto reboot), better look for optical fiber ISPs such as Unifi, Maxis or TIME.

so now, it will be used as my secondary backup in case unifi got downtime or my housing area got unexpected long power trips (happened before this for ~5 hours and i got a bulky ecoFlow 2 mini power station just for that purpose).

ZTE MU5120 portable 5G router

just realized that the ZTE MU5120 I gave to my wife is much, much more stable, never hang/auto reboot and just feels slight warm only even after use for nearly 8 hours or so. and it's ~1 year of ownership right now.

it uses Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 chip. 

Why ZTE uses the inferior IVY510 chip on the home/fixed 5G router such as MC888s? 

Does anybody with just U Home 5G account having issue to login to the latest MyUMobile app? iOS prompted an update so after updated the app, my account was logged out. I wanted to login again, after filling in everything under Broadband and trying to get an OTP then this error popped up.



There’s no U Mobile store nearby to me.. I just want to see the quota used through the app.

Yeah, I guess I will. I used my spare Android phone to try it, and it works. The login screen is the same as the old iOS app before the update. Just input my phone number and PIN (set earlier).
At least I can log in now using Android.

I just got one last night and can't seem to get any good speed. Even my own phone 5G can get better speed.

Pretty sure you're wrong with your info, no one could use 1000TB a month, FUP is 1000GB or 1TB

U Mobile block prepaid sim card plan use with modem
U mobile sim card so advance one
With phone all good, put inside a few modem just show no sim card, or invalid sim card
The solutions is hotspot tethering with phone + RM5 unlimited hotspot

oddly enough - on a separate note, when i put a DIGI 5G supp line into the Zyzel 5103E it doesnt work because i think it is locked, but in the Deco X50 5G - it still works ...
