Stress test download for, ok, i cant really stress test download, too fast for 100 gb download. Test is done for zyxel nr5103e three logo
Spread between epic stram and xbox pc download, all three with supposingly optimized server cdn and Epic can get constant 42MB/s, steam need to wait for awhile to achieve highest download of the three, 49 MB/s, probably because the file allocation method ir used is different from epic. Xbox however, is the slowest, geting below 40MB/s, peaked ard 37 with frequent howering ard 17~25,
Also use rclone and terminal to download a couple of file from onedrive business, getting peaked speed @ 37MB/s and howering ard 32 ish. All test done with my kingston A2000, so read write wont be bottleneck.
Gaming counter strike i am getting ping of 34 ish, which is average.overall, good enough la, but xbox download funny, cos with my unifi 300 i can get constant max bandwidth, which is 35 MB/s.

Even though it is cheap but the fact that 5G router cost between 1.5~2k, I dont think it is a good deal unless you are going to use it as a hotspot with your phone.

I think YES is a better deal at RM99 with a free 5G router. Too bad I signed up with Celcom Home Wireless 5G at RM149 before YES introduced the price cut.

Cheaper 5G router cost rm600-800 only and can do the job. Of course you can get more advanced rm2-4k routers.

is it better to have a wifi router as a access point, rather than using Wifi straight from the TP link X50-5G?

In that case, i guess the X50-5G supports up to 150 device. I can connect 20+ devices, shouldn't affect the data usage.

It should not affect, no mistake here. Tp link router and firmware is capable.

But, having ip passthrough or bridge to another router would allow the 5g router to only provide the internet while all other jobs, such as dchp or wifi braodcast to the router. It would be more stable under heavy usage. Just keep this in mind when you need to scale for heavier usage or upgrade to better router.

Users of TP-L X50, how slow is your unit start-up from power on to actual internet connection (green/ light blue light)?

I tested mine 2 times and took about 2m 15s.....

Using Hotlink for set-up, if that matters. At home using UH5G.

there is a common flaw for telco set 4G/5G router: LOCKED DNS

can't set DNS under APN setting (cellular WAN side). gonna set from router LAN setting (LAN side) or client device side.

IP passthrough mode of THREE nr5103e works.

Do i recommend THREE nr5103E?
NO if you are not savvy user. I would rather recomend TPLINK X50-5G.

YES if you want to save for 300 bucks.

other choices?
Fiberhome LG6121F has best firmware.

Yeacomm and Four Faith if you need a mod-able TTL value for unlimited hotspot.

Huawei? too overpriced.

ZTE? still expensive although price is falling, better get TPLINK X50-5G for peace of mind in local warranty.
