I have the same experience in my area at Putra Permai, Sri Kembangan. Exactly the same day. Until today, my Deco apps shows it only able to receive 4G/4G+ only
*
Complaint to them and get a case ID.
If this case still not solve after 5 working days, gonna complaint to mcmc and try to cancel the uHome.

uHome 4g at my place fluctuate between 15-30mbps

After chatting with U Mobile customer service, he suggest me to swap the SIM card to other device. Out of surprise, it can detect 5G on my iPhone. After hours of trial and error, I discovered that I could manually select frequency band from Deco app. Although I didn’t know what it meant, I uncheck the Auto, Deco app will search frequency band available in my area, then I simply change from Band 1 to Band 28, now the internet back to 5G.

pretty much the same solution to my ZTE problem previously.
need to manually lock the bands to B28 & B78 only if you want to force locking to 5G only.

Thanks, raised the issue to them and got the case ID.
Didn't expect got such issue, thought 5g from all telcos are about the same, but family member or colleague with Digi can get 5g while I'm stuck with 4g at my housing or working area.

Definitely not device problem because when I went to other area, I can get 5g signal.
*
It seem like wholesale of 5G from DNB, but each telco got their own setting at the 5G tower. Just wait for them to do their job. My current situation still hard to get 5G, but somehow 4G full bar and get 80-100mbps speed.

The KAON switched to 4G yesterday evening ... restart it it went back to 5G.

but 5G was quite bad yesterday evening for celcom digi mobile as well.

now set the KAON to auto reboot every day 3.00am and will see how it goes.

ZTE without auto reboot and frequent dc is better, right?

I think ZTE has better reception than Kaon.

yes .... that's true - KAON seems have tendency to down 5G to 4G maybe due to weaker reception.

but it is cooler and doesn't hang' restart... so need to choose the one with lesser evil.

ZTE - Stronger reception with stronger 5G , hot and DC/restart issue.

KAON - Weaker reception with tendency 4G, cool and without DC/restart issue.

haha - can't they have a decent modem that maintains 5G and without DC/restart issue?

Cooling is important... Unfortunately cooling isnt really a consideration in todays hardware.

If you are daring to void the warranty, open the case, dremel a 80mm case fan hole and then find a way to power the fan. You will be surprised.

I did open the casing and use fan blow directly to the heat plate. Still the same problem.

if u want reliable u can go buy fiberhome LG6121F with international firmware.

telco wants cheaper cost per unit because large volume.
so don't expect any good hardware and firmware support from the telco and manufacturer.

They go for cheap one that can use custom firmware. Also they make sure we can't use the modem with other telco once contract ended.

i lost count on how many auto reboot it went.
Just gotta have to live with it until contracts end.

besides, this is going to be my secondary backup in case my unifi line is down for sometime or if i bring it for outstation.

Say, you guys know any good portable 12V DC powerbank that can power this router for at least a good 4-5 hours at least?
Not looking at those mini powerstations like EcoFlow series. they are kinda big & bulky.

I stop the reboot by setting the modem to 4g only. No auto reboot after that. To me better than auto reboot just slower. Set only band 28.
