I wasn't hurt or anything, just wondering because you asked him "why not buy XJ6?" and thought maybe you were using the bikes styling as a basis to decide.

No problems mate.

no worry bout the "ugly" side... we are all mature enough to think and analyze and def. wont get blood boiling over just a comment. a better EQ is needed to ride a bike really .... else we are no different than those mat rempit tongue.gif

as for upgrade.... well, all bike, sooner or later will be upgraded and thts business. and if i m really of thinking of upgrading.... it wont be anohter new er6 but liter bike wink.gif

Just got my bike. Rode it just now.... Still not very good in the gear shifting... Stalled a couple of times at low speed.

When stopping shifting down gives me a lil problem... I guess I just need more time to practice ...

Hahaha didn't expect tht driving slow is the major problem.... Beginner tht is tongue.gif

congrats bro. maybe you can share some photo here rclxms.gif
Always shifting down before you completely stop and blip the throttle while shifting. It will help much.
Enjoy your ride and safe ride always biggrin.gif

Btw, when this thread can go V2??

same like car heel toe technique ..

copy from some forum :
QUOTE
When you downshift, the engine will need to move at a faster rate in order to match the wheels - simple enough. So the throttle blip is to match the revs.

But that's what you are accomplishing by doing it, not really why you do it. You have to look at the situation of where you downshift... generally at the end of a braking zone right before/during/after turn-in. If you are at the limits of traction - which is likely most of the time you are braking and/or turning, then not matching revs will cause the rear wheels to jerk and/or lock momentarily as the wheels force the engine to come up to revs/the engine forces the wheels to slow down a little. Doesn't sound like much, but when you are at the limits of adhession, this means your back wheels will brake loose. At the best you will miss your braking zone and have a less than ideal line through the turn... but depending on your differential or if you are trail braking or any other number of surface related possibilities, you'll spin (you could brake in a straight line, then shift when off the brakes, and then turn-in... but keeping this distinctly seperate is much slower, and once it starts to overlap, then it must be done smoothly).

As to what's been said so far, it's the down shift that is done to keep the engine in it's power band... heel-toe is done to do that shift smoothly and without incident.

By revving while shifting down the you're using engine braking to slow the bike down rather than just brakes.

This method mostly helps when you're slowing down for a turn, if holding the clutch and shift down all the way, the bike might jerk or stall when you release the clutch.

Correct me if im wrong...i havent been on a bike for more than a year. sad.gif

to be safe, it is better to start with smaller displacement bikes like the 150cc. once you get used to riding the bike on the road, understand the situations and know how to tackle various conditions (traffic, rain, uneven roads, emergencies, crazy & ignorant road users etc) then you'll be much comfortable riding bigger bikes later.

i've heard a lot of cases with new big bikers getting involved in accidents a few months after they started, some escaped with minor injuries, some not that lucky.

well... i used to ride a yamaha CDi ... thts a 90cc bike... more than 20 yrs back. ER6 f is totally a different experience, with hand clutch and a lot heavier ...

so far so good as a beginner. stalled a couple of times and getting myself to get used to the weight of the bike.

seriously, it is not fun when u want to push the bike backward from the parking (i m a 165cm shortie haha)

do u push the bike backward after u hv ride on it...or u push it at the side? blink.gif

bro ... u don't even own a big bike and yet u commented ... both the brand does not make the sound of the bike superb but 6F will definitely cover 250r sound. XJ6 no doubt it's inline 4 but power sucks ... just my opinion. icon_rolleyes.gif anyway it's the buyers choice what they want. wink.gif

If I need to push my bike backwards, I will stand close at front facing the bike. I grabbed handle with both hand and push back with little help from my stomach balancing the bike. Can imagine how I do? Side stand must be down to be safe.

You can push from side of the bike, 1 hand on handle and 1 hand on rear tail or even both hand on handle and pull back but im only 58kg and my bike is nearly 190kg with full tank, I can’t really do that. Same if let say your bike fell down, how you gonna lift up if you are alone? You shall know the answer sweat.gif

not really support la bro. Something like lean a bit on the bike to have better feel of control. If you are tall enough maybe can sit and bit by bit. If not chances of slipping is always there. Just go and try and later tell biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
