guys, i'm plunging cash on a brand new er6-n 2012 (unfrotunately, only yellow available at the moment) tomorrow

what should i look for in a brand new bike? in term of defects, or things that i need to be aware of?

buying it from an authorised kawa re-seller

and can an ABS unit be retro-fitted later? (malaysia import models don't have ABS doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif)

One of the 11 unit belongs to a contractor i used to deal with.. He owns 5 bmw bikes... The 1st time we went for this project to see the site with the other project team who are also trying to bid the project, our project team is the one who stand out the most, because he ride his hp2 while his colleague ride a S1000RR... So sad that we loose the bid, if otherwise, for sure can know that dude better...

the stock tyres are japan-made dunlops

so what tyre / brand do you suggest? do i keep to the same size as stock tyres?

how much would i expect to get in from selling back the original stock tyres?

use the stock tires first and learn to ride/feel/understand the bike. stock tires are good enough for everyday use imo.

gonna heed your advice...

i'm a total newbie... my normal ride is an automatic scooter (ego 125lc)

and jumping straight to a full clutch-manual gears with 70+hp is a big culture shock to me

have to relearn my riding skill

that sticking out boxer engine is so unique..

Just like how unique Guzzi engine were... Transverse V-Twin.... Made me more reluctant to sell my guzzi... sad.gif

Why HP2 top speed so low.. ( I mean for the standards la) using stock GS engine izzit ?

BTW, here's Moto Guzzi MGS-01 Corsa .... Using the same engine as my bike but tweaked to produce more power... This bike is said to have a top speed well north of 280++ - 290++ km/h (My bike only capable of 230-240 ony)

stock tire is not that bad actually, I put 20,000km on it without any problem (im a cheapo on tire), of course there is a better tires out there brows.gif , yes 160/60 rear tire... All I do is frequent oil change every 3000-4000km, throttle/clutch cable free play, balancing...

ER6 has very little problem, congrats on you for getting this bike, I has rode a few bikes and ER6 is one of the best thumbup.gif

I've no intention of selling it yet... LOL

But i've contacted CEO of Fast Bikes for his opinion... He suggested me to sell this bike for around 30-35k... me is considering...

Me want 600 supersport.... If I do sell my guzzi, i'm looking forward to buy a 2nd 600 supersport or XJ6..... laugh.gif

FYI, for Guzzi bikes, there's something called Engine cover / protectors which placed between the engine head & block & another type of brace....

Got 2 types of protector.....

I think any rear tires above 1**/50 is good, the 50 is just crap, now 55 the best... 180/55, 190/55 etc... 55 rounder more contact with the ground...

going to try out the 200/55 zr17 next, they said grip at lean is pretty good...

yes, it's also stated in the brochure

and i thought the 160/60 is quite wide for a 650cc street bike?
