QUOTE(dragna @ Mar 16 2008, 10:19 PM) I think they got their info all wrong, all firmwares have shutter sound, the only way to switch it off is to set the phone into silent mode. Hmm. Now that I have the phone. There are 5 options under shutter sound and the last one is 'OFF' and there is no shutter sound when i select it even in normal mode. However the focus beep is still there and I can't turn it off. In silent mode there is no sound at all, shutter and focus beep alike. I got one problem. When I launch the SE update manager, it pops out a box saying I have an incompatible version of macromedia. I already downloaded Adobe Flash Player 8. How? QUOTE(carbon14 @ Mar 23 2008, 07:15 PM) 1.The light sensors on K850 will detect the amount of light present and automatically renders flash/no flash. Usually for me I don't flash indoors. I only flash IN ZERO or NEAR ZERO lighting. K850 is best if you set the configuration for pictures normally. (Exposure being a nice setting here to make a picture not so brightly/dark due to different lighting) 2. You might been covering the phone lens? Check your fingering. so means i gotta disable the flash manually everytime there's sufficient lighting? i thought the sensor is smart enough to sense the lighting condition. means i gotta tweak the ISO too? or just set it to auto? confirmed not covering the lens. as i've tested it few times dy. might be FW problem?

I too get almost pitch black pictures when i use the flash. Comfirm not covering the lens or the flash. I suspect it is super bad flash sync. I don't think it is sensor problem also since when I take a picture with flash and there are extra bright lights around such as leds, they get captured. So I'm assuming the ISO and exposure time gets slashed alot when flash is fired but cause it is out of sync the picture gets pitch black. Dunno why SE messed up this time when did did so well with K800.

K810 & K800 never had this problem.

I just realized the soft key button to take pictures is super useful to take super steady shots. Since cameraphones are darn light, pressing any button usually causes the phone to shake abit. But the softkey solves all that.

Something that I found that might help you..Oh and about that exposure thing,I tested it on an IXUS but the sensors still fail to produce a balanced picture. It was either too bright caused by the flash or it was too dark without the flash. So what I would do is adjust the exposure abit to get the optimum brightness I want in my picture. CODE I had the dark pictures using the flash problem even when I kept my fingers away from the sensor. Suddenly thought that it might be becasue I still had the plastic film on the back; took it off, problem solved! Such a simple thing but the dark pictures were really annoying me to the point where I was on the point of sending it back to get a K810i. Pleased I didn't though as it's a super phone.
