I had once twisted my knee during futsal game and a loud pop! sounded, doc said I tore my ligament or something and that within a year or so should be ok. Now more than 10 years still have issue where I can't even sprint or jump from anything higher than a meter and sometime when abruptly stopping during fast walk (say in the airport) my knee locked and dislocated and had to twist and rotate to "put it back"

Any chance a surgery can fix this? how long is the recuperation time? Can get back to normal routine such as running etc?

Yeah it sounds like a ligament injury, how old are you, if not repaired and your still active, due to the injury, you will have an unstable knee, which may further injured your knee.

You should consult a orthopaedic subspecializes in sports, to confirm your injury, if it is a ligament injury, depending on how many ligament ( eg acl only or acl, pcl) surgery is important but then rehab will be even more important, its not recuperation but rehabilitation time, you will start doing exercises gradually, rehab usually takes up to 6 months, around 1 year to get back to running

Seems that you want to get back to your active lifesyle, so i suggest you can consult a sports doctor, if you have insurance, check with your insurance if its covered otherwise may cost a fortune from 20k-40k++, if not you can go always opt for government hospital, cn pm me if you are keen to know further which government hospital have that kind of subspecialty and how to go about it

Seems that you will benefit from surgery based on your story

50s. exercise few times a week (jogging, brisk walk). no cramps....just muscle tightness/knots. so everytime go massage, it's painful massaging the knots at calf and leg.

tried using massaging gun but doesnt really help with knots.

How old are you, when does the tightness occur, are you very active in sports, what sports you do, do you have cramps at night, any other illness

Not sure if you're still active but I recently started feeling pain in my little finger. First joint near the knuckles when exerting pressure like when wringing clothes dry out or even when shaking hands.
Thumb also feels painful between the knuckle and first joint when bending.

Should I consult a rheumatologist or orthopaedic specialist for this?

good morning @harriskrishna

Last year i injured my knee during basketball games, and had went through 3 jabs of PRP (last one in Dec 2023), trying to avoid entering operating thereafter.

nowadays the crackling/rubbing sound still persist when my knee is contracted, very loud ones.

occasionnaly, i do tried to play basketball again but can really feel that my left knee is giving away; and that's where the compensation goes into my right knee. Hence, I really moving away from basketball from then onwards.

also, i've done the following to minimize my left knee burdern:
1. reduced body weight from 79 to 70kilo
2. added glucosamine+condroitine and fish oil as my daily supplement
3. replaced high impact sports of basketball with cycling
4. Frequently icing on my knees after workout (cycling) on a daily basis

just wondering if there's anything else I can do improve my knee condition, so that I can be back on basketball court again.

thanks in advance and really appreciate your time and input here.

Nothing else then healing, use ankle strength none knee strength. Use hip strength none anke strength
Don't use knee strength, will recover

I’ve had my fair share of injuries and pains, especially with back pain from sitting at a desk all day and a knee injury from playing sports.

One thing that really helped me was starting to use hyaluronic acid supplements. They made a noticeable difference in my joint health and mobility. Have you found that hyaluronic acid is effective for knee osteoarthritis or other joint issues?

Also, I’m curious about your thoughts on managing plantar fasciitis. I’ve heard mixed advice about stretching versus rest. What’s your take on the best approach for recovery?

The right professional would be a sport physician ( doctor who specializes in sport related injury), but this case can be seen by any orthopaedic surgeon or even normal clinic doctor who has enough knowledge,

So golfers elbow happen in the inner part of your elbow, due to injury
During racquet sports or heavy lifting or constant vibration from drilling
You Can refer to this link, for the test to confirm if its golfer elbow( medial epicondylitis)
https://youtu.be/WBBiJYYtf5o
Usually an x ray is done to rule out fracture initially, then we cn confirm diagnosis by clinical examinations however mri would be the best modality bt unnecessary
Since its been 3months and healing, a gradual strengthening exercise should be done for your rehab, another method to relieve it is to go for SINGLE low dose steroid injection, done in many athlete to reduce the inflamamtion and hasten healing
A warm pack can help the soreness and elbow brace when doing activity to distribute the load

Do also note that steroid injection is not the same as anabolic steroid taken by gym users

I have similar symptoms on my right arm, but a tennis elbow.
I have seen an orthopedic and taken a shot of Shincort. It was a good quick fix for 3 mths but the sore gradually returned.
Since then i have been using various elbow strap to mitigate the sore, and those elastic arm sleeve.
Additionally I did those muscle strengthening exercise i watch in Youtube for few weeks to no avail.

Its been more then 6 months now and i am simply living with the ache and sore, it comes and goes but irritating during sleep or long period of stationary no movement.

I am at lost who i should seek help from, please advice.

Spinal hyperextension poopy without twisting, it actually helps nutrients going in and the waste discharge
