Yes. I am using the above mentioned version. I am using UMobile Postpaid 68 version 1 with 5G support.
*
Ported from redONE to U Mobile on U Postpaid 38 (eSIM).

Upon setting up (on WiFi), I disabled WiFi to test 5G......

....Pixel 7 showed 5G for like a split second then went to LTE.

What APN are you on?

======

UPDATE: I went to a different area of my condo and 5G showed up. Tested it. For those who wants to know, I am staying at Desa Sri Hartamas / Mont Kiara area.

There is no need to set anything on Umobile APN as the default settings already suffice as long as the postpaid package you subscribed includes 5G support. Then automatically, you will get the 5G connection once you are within the areas of 5G network range. If you reside indoor, sometimes you may not get 5G
connection because 5G network communicates in short range and high radio frequency, if there are many walls especially within indoor, the 5G connection will be degraded. Unlike, outdoor where walls to block the signal are lesser, this is why you can easily get 5G connection provided you are within the 5G Cell tower range.

If you had 5G, then it suddenly disappeared, then it's nothing to do with APN. It's coverage.

Just picked up a new Pixel 7 US set to replace my aging OnePlus 7 that I use as my work phone. Swapped in my Digi Business SIM,
migrated my data and set up the phone - immediately connected to the Digi 5G network without any additional steps needed. At the
same time, my Pixel 7 Pro which I use as my personal phone on Maxis still has no 5G even on Android 14 QPR.

I also spoke to the Maxis CS earlier today asking them if they are ever going to provision 5G for Pixel 6/7/8 users in Malaysia when
many of the other telcos have already done so - simple answer is we have no idea. All the more reasons for a switch when my Maxis
contract expires in FEB 2024.

Have you subcribe to the 5G booster? for xpax postpaid its RM10 monthly..

There's a booster I need to get? I didnt know that I thought it was included in my plan. Thanks for the tip I will check it out.

Hold on, I thought the minister was saying there shouldnt be extra charges? Ah well, I will look it up. Thanks again.

*EDIT - Okay I checked in my Celcom app and the only add on available for my plan is a 4 Day 5G Booster +120GB for Rm 8. Doesnt make much sense. I am wondering if I should try it once just to see if 5G works on my phone or if its a waste of money. Hmm....

You may need to subscribe to a package with 5G data to enjoy 5G.

Happy New Year and Good Morning everyone,

I just purchased a Pixel 7. Now awaiting for it to be delivered.

1. I read some of the posts and just to confirm that the only issue using Hotlink/Maxis on Pixel 7 is that there is no 5G?

2. Also, is the overheating issue resolved?

3. Any other issues that I need to be concerned about?

Thank you.

2. Less overheat after Android 14. Even on Android Auto I can feel it is less warm compared to Android 13 time.

3. VoWiFi is not available out of the box. Need to enable it via PixelIMS method (see earlier post).

Can i ask, if based in Klang Valley (PJ, Subang, Bangsar, TTDI), what's the best mobile plan to get 5G with Pixel 7 Pro?

Currently on maxis, and quite tired of waiting lolx.

Do you have VoWiFi with QPR2 Beta 3 on Maxis?

Still no VoWiFi on my Celcom sim setting.

Pixel IMS will force close when Shizuku is running in this version. Cannot enable VoWiFi for the time being as Pixel IMS is not playing nice with Shizuku. Need to wait for Shizuku update.

For those who need to activate VoWiFi without waiting for the new official version of Pixel IMS, look for the temporary patched file here.
