Nice to see Maxis 5G is finally up on the stable March build


Did you subscribe to 5G via the hotlink app? I believe 5G is not an automatic given unless you are subscribed to their new 5G packages. If you are an older/legacy user like me, then you would have to subscribe to 5G via the app

I'm using the old Postpaid 40, based on their FAQ:



Not sure what 5g-enabled means, but ya I guess probably need to subscribe to their new 5g plans to enable 5g

You need call hotlink cs to enable 5G I faced same but they argue me too move new plan but I requested to stay in same plan enable 5G

Maxis postpaid 5g enabled via maxis app. Pixel 7 non pro Japan set march pixel drop got 5g now.

Thanks! I've called the CS but the CS couldn't enable 5g for me, she has created a case to follow up on this.

Anyone else has worse 4g performance on Maxis? And I have to constantly toggle airplane mode to get 5g, or else it stays on 4g and way slower than on February build (I literally have 0.00 Mbps upload speed).

VoLTE has been available way before 5G started working. This I can confirm.

Not sure about voWIFI yet. Probably not, need others to confirm.

How did you enable it? Just give them a call? I updated to the March built yesterday but still no 5G yet.

Which hotlink plan you're using?

If you're using Postpaid 40, just call the CS and ask them to enable for you. They'll push you to upgrade to the new 5g plan, but insist you just want them to enable 5g on your current plan.

With 4G/5G connected, Wifi toggle OFF, during call making there's 'HD' icon. Proof VoLTE WORKING .

WITH Wifi connected, mobile data toggle OFF during call making there's 'HD' icon. Proof VoWifi working.

At least I can speak as a Hotlink user experience. Nevertheless, worldwide issue with Pixel series with 5G feature, mostly concerning 5G at unsupported countries. Community not so critical with VoLTE/VoWifi
