Just as a recap for all iPhone users currently undergoing the 1.1.1 update and unlock process, there are a couple of issues at the moment which are halting us in the midst of the smooth upgrade :

1. The TIFF exploit, AKA http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com/ is not functional and most of us will see it redirect to the homepage at http://www.toc2rta.com/.

SOLUTION : Use this mirror instead - http://jailbreak.kengz.com/


2. The message "Error : Package Download Failed" appears when attempting to reinstall BSD Subsystem 1.5 from the Installer. Without the BSD Subsystem, all unlocking for Windows is now suspended till this server issue is fixed.

SOLUTION : Bad news, there's no manual download and install method at the moment, not that I know of at least. If REALLY desperate, you could try accessing AppTapp's package repository to download the files if you know the link, but then I read that the manual install is too easily screwed up because there's a lot of command lines involved. In other words, we HAVE to wait till the server is fixed.

Not sure if this has been posted, but I just got an e-mail this morning.

My take on this IPSF/DevTeam/iPhoneElite love triangle?

One word: MONEY. Plus a little bit of fame, fortune and glory on the side.

It is only a matter of time before we see these "free" solutions (except the IPSF ones) becoming a paid one soon. But if they can keep up this "competition" among themselves, they may be forced to keep it free, in the name of bragging rights, i reckon.

If you are on a Mac, and you don't have an iTunes account, there are many apps around...

The one I use is called Clutter - 1.0b2, http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18699. It scans your iTunes library, and allows you to replace or add new art work in your albums. It scans from the usual suspects like amazon.com, cdnow.com, etc. If you have indie bands albums (like I do), you might want to search manually for the album art and cut and paste into the Info page of your songs.

No help if you're on a pc though...

Ya lor dont layan them, always give wrong info. Last month before I'm going to Japan, they cust care said nokia E90 can be roaming at japan. When reach there, cisss kena tipu. After coming here reach KLIA, I direct dial to them, one cust care tell me what you all know? Sir, I suggest you change your phone. WTF hello maxis I'm using Nokia E90 la. Not so simple like that I can change my phone. hehehe agree with wei dont layan them, or take other alternative change service provider or use "Multi SIM 1 line" but you needs to bring 2 hp la.

Anyway now also we have to carry 2 phone:
a) Sub a maxis line, call forward (pay to receive call WTF?)
b) Multi-SIM 1 line (ok lar, just pay RM15 for extra SIM)
c) One maxis + one other telco (another bil to come...)

It's not easy to switch to other telco. My 012 are with me 7-8years, a lot of contact (some I dont even know them). Who knows one might hook me up a big job? Can't take the risk. To switch have to do many things. And I'm not used to doing this, who knows there might be some official stuff I forgot to inform them? Lawyer? Bank? Government thing?

I hear some rumor that Maxis are very close to get the things fixed. I have no idea how true is that lar.

Thanks bro.But I'm facing some problem here.In Itunes, I could see the songs and videos in the Iphone but they are not selectable nor can be deleted.

This is what I did:

I have all my songs, video & podcast on "Manual sync" mode.
For songs:
I create a playlist specially for iPhone. I add song & remove song via iTunes like normal playlist. I select iPhone to sync only with this playlist. Everytime I change the playlist content, iTunes will sync my iPhone as well.

For video:
Just select what you want & don't want in the "Video" tab of the iPhone menu.

It's easy as A-B-C.
