for those stuck at the downloading BSD...did u guys update the installer before installing the bsd?

I done my update from mac. No need to have BSD sub system, no need to patch youtube, no need to patch lockdwn. I love my mac!

Did you unload the CommCenter?

5 - Unload CommCenter, so that you can proceed with the seczone dump by typing "launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist"


If you didnt , you WILL be waiting forever.

The current state of internal politics in Hackintosh.org forums now:-

1 - There are three competing hacking groups, the IPSF team, the DevTeam and the iPhone Elite team. The current revirginizers are from the iPhone Elite team, which are the splinter group of the previous Dev Team, which is why you see their revirginizers methods , when posted on the Hackintosh thread, gets deleted.

2 - Why? Because the entire moderating team in Hackintosh is basically DevTeam lackeys, which are surprised by the speed at which the iPhone Elite had came out with the revirginizers. Because of this, this is why whenever someone posted about the iPhoneElite team method, the thread gets deleted and disappears from the forum.

3 - This is because the DevTeam wants the name to themselves, to be the first to come up with the revirginizers, hence a name for themselves for coming up with the easy jailbreaks 1.1.1 you see mentioned above.

4 - Also on another front, the method of unlocking is debated. Comparing AnySim/iUnlock with IPSF methods, Geohot, the original unlocker of the first iPhone had come up with his observation that the IPSF method damages the seczone & token data during unlocking while the AnySim/iUnlock method is repairable via the current revirginizers. This is also why the reason why the threads about the revirginizers are deleted so swiftly, since if those using the IPSF method, had realised this, may come up to arms and demand an explanation to this. The only way to reverse and virginize an IPSF-unlocked iPhone is by analysing the uploaded seczone data dump made during the unlocking, which are uploaded to their servers, and hopefully come up with a solution from there. IF IPSF did not do this, ALL IPSF-unlocked iPhones are FCUKED! FCUKED here in the sense that they are stuck with the current firmware configuration, until another way of circumventing Apple's locks can be found. AnySIM and iUnlock folks can proceed since their seczone data can be returns to their OTB state a.k.a virginized.

So you see, the state of the forum aint as simple as it seemed. There are people with vested interest, with a lot at stake and things to lose and be gained from.

hey there...finally i've completed upgrade my unlock 1.0.2 phone to 1.1.1...thanks to irwan...

Ctrl-c the process. You should have a 0 byte seczone.backup. Now try

chmod 766 ./seczone.backup

and try the dump again and see if that helps.

The dump should only take 3 seconds. So if you're waiting, somethings wrong.

Note that if you restart the phone, remember to:

launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

If you do this twice, you'll get a process not found message which confirms that it's been unloaded.
If it's not unloaded and you run norz, you get a resource busy message or something like that.

I've been following the forums since the early days too and the Dev Team is in my opinion are pretty boneheaded about this. The only losers in this whole issue are the users since we're the ones who are stuck with seeing or being able to discuss only one side of the story, the rest being censored. I kinda regretted putting my money into them now
