Inside Stock widget, click "i", click "+", enter "^KLSE".
To add entry to specific stock, search "1234.KL", 1234 is the stock number.

To get your fav. stock no in KLSE, go to http://www.bursamalaysia.com/website/bm/ma...rmation/prices/

New iphone user. Week 39, 1.0.2, 8GB.

Bought both Marware's Sport Grip and C.E.O Premiere Case for RM225 (buy online lahhh, 2 weeks + delivery from Florida to KL). Sport Grip looks good (Marware even provides a screen protector sticker) and feels good. Now my iphone doesn't feel like a slippery soap while I'm handling it.

No apps inside yet cos I receive both the iphone and the new Zelda DS game at the same time! Since I can't play Phantom Hourglass on the iphone guess which one took out my whole weekend...

iphone looks good, is a great basic phone, love the video playing feature and safari is very convenient.

Unfortunately my radio remote (made by Apple) doesn't work at all so I can't use my Sony earphones (which I prefer to use when drowning out external noises...)

I know I'm missing out a lot when I moved to an iphone (no MMS? No offline pdf viewing, no document creation? No IRC? No IM-ing on the run? Can't see Divx movies? Can't play my Itchy & Scratchy ring tone? and more...) but it has an opposite on me -- I spend more time doing other stuff I like (like playing zelda) rather than tinker endlessly with my mobile phone.

Now that is a feature no one mentioned about.

PS: First day of iphone, my Celcom line kept dropping...or the dreaded "this line is not available..." shit... No biggie since it was midnight by then...

Soonwai,
My original intention was to get Marware's Sports Grip (it had a good product review by ilounge.com, pricing is very competitive and they had a good selection of colors, though I always end up with black or red) and stuff it inside the C.E.O Premiere Case. Wrong move. After plopping the screen protector and inserting the Sports Grip, my iphone barely fit in the CEO case. Opps. Did you say you were interested in this case? Anyone?

Anyway, I'm back to using my Crumpler pouch (which is good pouch, though it looks like I have a permanent boner all the time, hardy ha ha...).

The Sports Grip, like all silicon case, feels well..siliconish (rubbery touch but with a firm body). It covers the Sleep/Power button and Volume buttons, which does makes it slightly harder to push, leaves a punched out hole for pressing the Vibrate switch and a wide gap exposing the speaker, mike and connector. Mine is black, so now it looks like a milspec PDA for the marines. Sort of.

Horizontal indents cuts across the back portion of the case, making gripping easier and surprisingly, more comfortable. No more that "I feel its slipping away, captain..."

I doubt the Sports Grip will fit in the included Dock, but since I bought a no brand travel charger (which have 3 interchangeable plug heads) for only RM99 at MacAsia in 1U, I just plug it in and charge it nightly at home. The Apple power plug that came with the iphone is sitting in the office. You can never have enough power plugs around, y'know. Maybe I'll use the dock for iphone 2.0 or 3.0... just maybe...

Like all silicon cases, it catches dust, or cloth particles like push bras catches eye balls. Happily, this doesn't affect the performance of the case at all, but makes the case look more ruggedly bang-up or "battle-damaged" as I like to say. For those who like to maintain the pristine lines of your iphone intact, or maintain that "I am holding an iphone, look at me!" feel, this is not a case for you.

Overall, the Sports Grip fits my bill -- its cheap, it works, and makes my iphone feel and look tougher. For only US15 bucks thats really stretches my ringgit. Highly recommended.

On my original gripes >>
- no MMS ~ I get MMSes once a while, and now I have to do it the old fashion way, accessing it from a computer. Darn...

- No offline pdf viewing ~ I did this for referencing items or catalogs when I'm out shopping, but with Notes in my iphone, I'm sorted.

- No document creation ~ Thank you Google Docs!! (this requires an active internet connection to access)

- No IRC ~ Screw it, I love Zelda (anyone playing Phantom Hourglass?)

- No IM-ing on the run ~ Screw it... right after Zelda its Delirium aka The Ward...when will the madness stop! Sometimes I use meebo.com

- Can't see Divx movies? ~ Still testing a few Windows apps, using DVDvideosoft's Free Video to iPhone Converter, but almost hlaf of the movies I converted had weird artifacts or green scrubs floating about...

- Can't play my Itchy & Scratchy ring tone? ~ Using the sci-fi ringtone. Absolutely love it.

Hey guys, wanna ask how to get album art on the screen? From what I know we need to register itunes store.Any other ways?Use WMP?

Also, how do I delete songs directly in the Iphone?

If you are on a Mac, and you don't have an iTunes account, there are many apps around...

The one I use is called Clutter - 1.0b2, http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18699. It scans your iTunes library, and allows you to replace or add new art work in your albums. It scans from the usual suspects like amazon.com, cdnow.com, etc. If you have indie bands albums (like I do), you might want to search manually for the album art and cut and paste into the Info page of your songs.

No help if you're on a pc though...

Lots of people are frustrated with MAXIS's customer service (or lack of).

Number portability is suppose to kick off (or be implemented) soon end of this year or so, if you are frustrated and wish to move to another mobile provider, sit tight and wait for this to happen. As usual, they will be a cost to implement and maintain this system, but no firm info on how this will be done.

Number portability basically retains your previous mobile number, but routes to your favorite provider via a 3rd party.

News Release

Mobile Number Portability(MNP) Implementation
1 March 2007

MEDIA STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

1 March 2007
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) Implementation
Cyberjaya, 28 February 2007 - The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has appointed a Consortium made up of Talian Gerak Alih Sdn Bhd, Unified Communications Sdn Bhd and Telcordia Technologies Inc to operate and manage the Mobile Number Portability Clearinghouse (NPC) in Malaysia.

The Consortium will operate and manage the MNP clearinghouse for 5 years with an option to continue for an additional 5 years, subject to satisfactory performance. The design and development of the clearing house is expected to be completed by August this year for the purpose of a pilot implementation until the end of 2007.

Based on earlier consultations, the industry is collectively looking forward to implementing number portability as it is expected to lead to a more competitive and efficient telecommunications environment. MCMC, together with the industry players, will embark on a nationwide exercise to create consumer awareness on MNP. To ensure successful take-up, consumers will be educated on the benefits of this facility.

Mobile number portability is a service that enables mobile telephone customers to retain their existing mobile telephone numbers when they switch from one service provider to another. A number of countries have introduced mobile number portability in recent years such as Hong Kong, United Kingdom, USA, Europe, Australia, South Korea and Taiwan.

The main benefits of MNP to consumers are the costs savings to the porting customer of not having to change telephone numbers, while at the same time having the freedom to choose the supplier with the best overall value.

New operators can benefit from MNP by increasing the potential market share available to them. MNP increases the likelihood that customers of incumbent operators will be willing to switch to a new entrant. Incumbent operators benefit from MNP by allowing full competition for established mobile customers as well as new customers. All operators benefit from MNP by allowing them to market these service improvements they make to maintain or improve their networks to increase their market share .

<Flips open the Opinions Hat>

If Maxis is complacent, I'll add that my years as a CELCOM user: they like to follow just close enough to the market leader, but not too close to be seen as one...

Anyone remember their million dollar plus ad campaign for "Internet on your phone" -- AKA WAP?
