I engaged Winson for my DCMOTO 925 autogate system after reading the comments from the forum. The system failed after a heavy rain (installation less than a year).
So I called Winson to come for inspection, he straight away told me the board is dead due to lightning strike. So, I asked if this is covered under his warranty, he said not covered, and want to charge me RM300 for the board.

I asked him to come to inspect first, he kept saying there is no need to inspect as he had many customers had this issues also (What?? the autogate can just die after a heavy rain????????????)

I highly suspect the board is stroked by lightning, as there is fuse installed in the board , which the fuse is not burned. So, it is may be just the poor components used within DCMOTO (or DIGICRAFT).

but I am not very satisfied by Winson's attitute towards his customer problem, and I will not have any more business with him .... NEVER!

Guys, I have been using DCmoto for the past 5years. One side of my motor decided to packed up last year. To cut the story short, I had to replace with a new motor. Just before the 1 year warranty, the new motor started to give a grinding noise. I had to called up the factory which is in Penang to sort this issue of honoring the replacement. Mind you, the whole process took easily a month bearing without the auto gate. Recently the same side motor packed up again.
DCmoto does not have a branch in Klang Valley and each and every part that requires to be worked on will be needed to sent back to Penang.I have came to terms to replaced the whole system. My advice is if you can accept the kind of support, by all means, pls go ahead.

When lighting strike, the fuse may not blow, they maybe using slow blow fuse. Lightning travel very fast, you need isolator or lightning protector. My ADSL modem very frequent get fried, and the plug still working.

Than again, he should at least come over and check if the board are faulty because of lightning.

I have been using DC Moto (GFM925) for more than a year now touch wood no problems rain or shine. My installer also very efficient. He came and helped my dad out with my dad's Ranger autogate which had problems. i think his price was slightly higher but they way he responded to my fathers gate i think i will have no issues with his service.

I just installed D'nor by Dblcss Klg. I think most autogate service is quite bad. A lot of their business cant outlast the gate. They just like freelance installer. Didnt really have any big company doing autogate with good after sales service. I just hope that if my gate got any problem I can get replacement parts easily myself. Thats y I choose a more common system

i think i rather forget about workmanship.. the important is "how good is the autogate?" how long it will survive from variable conditions..etc..

Just install my DC Moto for my 12' folding gate, so far so good...
one small complain is the remote sensor is not strong enuf as compare to others that i experience before but still at acceptable level. Maybe just need to get use to it.
Finger cross and hope it will stay " healthy " for long time....
