Ah now I only found out size 225/600R17 NA for UC7, only UC6, before that I just browse Shopee and the seller got that options, never verify the size at official site.

Current UC6 that I am using is quite noisy at 90lmph above, that's why I am thinking to go for UC7 since it claims that it's more quiet that old gen

Also I come across the CrossContact AX6 225/65R17, did some study, very few contents on it, not sure anyone here using it or use it before, any comments on it?

Cheers!

What is your ride currently? If your driving SUV and using 225/60/R17 as original size UC6 got SUV rated tires.
If not mistaken UC7 still only for normal passenger tires.

Dont simply change tire size as nowadays a lot of safety features (abs, vehicle stability control) and suspension settings are done/calibrated using original size tires. Changing different size will impact the effectiveness of it.

My current ride is Subaru Forester SJ, no sensor on tires, so it should not be an issue on those mentioned above.

Will still stick to the same / closest size as I have no intention to touch the rim size and others, the original is good enough for daily rides and some off roads, but UC6 is not good at some off roads especially on kampung road yellow muds (slipped before, luckily hold with X Mode), and that's the reason AT tire comes into my mind (AX6)

If that is the case, UC7 should out from my bucket list.

Still doing some research on AX6 vs Toyo Open Country RT since both are similar price

Thanks.

WTF no sensor on it? If your ride got ABS, it means got sensor to your wheel usually on the bearing. Subaru are sensitive towards AWD and safety related, if the engineer already define this is the best tire size just buy back, dont simply change. If you want AT tires, get Falken Wildpeak AT. I also driving a Subaru Xv and using AT tires from Falken with original size, they got 225/60/R17 for AT tires.

UC6 SUV was designed for road like e.g. UC6 with heavier load.

If you went off-load like yellow mud, the tyres will struggle. It needs you car 4wd system to get thru.

But if you use AT tyres then its not for conform and noisier but with better grip.

So choose your poison.

Would like to know how is uc7 compare to primacy 4? What are the pro and cons for these 2 tyres
*
I just moved from Primacy 4 to UC7 (215/45R17). Result may vary depending on size. What I can say, both tayar are quite close. I bought UC7 with big CNY discount from Conti shop so it works out around rm244/piece (that's roughly RM200/pc cheaper compared to Primacy 4 at current market price!).

UC7 has low noise, very close to Primacy 4. Comfort-wise is close too, but Primacy 4 feels a bit plusher and more premium while UC7 is a bit sportier but still smooth. In wet, UC7 feels like in the dry and I got to test its hydroplane and it is very good. Though I feel Primacy 4 has slight edge (very small difference).

Primacy 4 can last 60k km (at least on my car and the way I drive), so I hope UC7 can last as long. Overall, I'm happy with UC7 as it can go toe-to-toe with Primacy 4. Recommended.

I'm not fond of the diamond logo but since the sidewall is low profile, the diamond is not that obvious puke.gif

For 200 ringgit cheaper i think UC7 is definitely a better choice, i think another forumer also bought from shopee live with a very good deal.
For me the noise UC7 is noticeably quieter than primacy 4.

By the way, i have also changed to UC7 already.

May I ask what is the car you are driving which is fitted with UC6 tyres, and the size? I'll be getting the UC6 soon and thought it's a fairly quiet tyre.

May I ask in terms of steering feedback and sharpness, is there a difference between the Primacy 4 and UC7 and if yes which is better? When you turn the steering wheel, you feel the vehicle respond better and more accurately as opposed to a looser feel ie. not very accurate.

I would say UC7 feels sharper, but not by much. overall UC7 feels sportier (for a touring tayar) while Primacy 4 feels more plush and premium.

Thanks. Good to know that the UC7 is not only close to Primacy 4 in quietness but also feels slightly sharper or with almost same steering feel and performance. I've used Primary 3ST long time ago and it's a good tyre in terms of handling and low noise, more than 10 years ago but have not chosen Michelin since then since the price is always higher when compared to other alternatives which also provide good performance and value.

My vehicle is on UC6 and on a Youtube review of that same vehicle on UC6 it was mentioned that the tyres are crap in handling and noise when he drove up to Genting Highlands. puke.gif I was wondering if the UC7 will be an improvement over UC6 if I intend to change tyres in say 3 to 4 years time. Apart from the UC7, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport is another alternative.

The guy who commented that the UC6 is crap has the Michelin PS5 on the vehicle, reported to have much improved handling and lower noise, a remark that is contradictory since a good handling/performance tyre usually has higher noise although I know that some will have the best of both worlds, usually costly.

I never tried PS5 but used PS4 before. I can say PS series have one of the lowest noise for a performance tyre category, but cannot rival the quietness of a comfort-biased/touring tyre.

Primacy 3ST was excellent, i liked it. Primacy 4 is a bit better especially in dry handling. On 215/45R17, it was great but my experience on 235/55R17 is so-so.

Given the price jump of Primacy 4 is quite significant, UC7 proves to be a much more sensible choice - you'll get a similar performance but at a much lower price.

I never tried UC6 but based on reviews, UC7 is better in nearly all aspects.

By the way, do you have experience with Ultra Racing strut bars? It's another topic but thought of posting a new thread on this later.

The guy on Youtube also installed some Super Circuit bars on the car apart from changing the tyres from 16" to 17" Michelin PS5 for improved handling of the car.

strut bars? most modern road cars don't require that. it only will benefit you if you drive the car to its limit. anti-roll bar / sway bar will give more impact in handling. handling sifus can give better insight into the dark art of handling devil.gif
