Last Wednesday, I go up Genting for the first time using this Alza. Okay la.. for 5 ppl with full luggage.

As full capacity, the rear absorber very soft and almost lowered all. Still manageable with Power mode and manual gear mode (go D at some point where no need so much push). Cornering no problem. Tyres wise..okay la

Wet road, so can't drive fast plus got old mama in car.

have to shift from 2nd to 1st gear for some places to get the momentum running.

No warning light on CVT. Once reached parking.. no funny smell or whatsoever.

BTW.. do change the CVT fluid at least every 50,000 km as per manual. Even though P2 said 100,000km. Even the manual has 2 sections, one said 100k, one said 50k.

I changed mine at 20k.. just monitor the oil condition and see what next.

If i remember correctly the service fee for cvt fluid change add less than rm20 (during normal service) . Better to have it in P2 records first few years.

I drive the car hard and fast with manual gear selection for engine braking, changing every 20K as well. The CVT fluid filter also can change but need to order 3 weeks in advance as they don't stock, Alza still new

Totally agree about it. It is just a press of a button internally.
If the modification is hard wire, it will be difficult if want to enable it back next time.

there is a plug n play thing that can add.. just a bypass thing behind the switch. i keep it original as sometimes just go with eco-idle.

What is your feedback on the 3rd row? Is it damn small and really not worth it for human adult?

Yeah, don't bother with long term putting a tall-ish (as you said 170cm) person there. My son (148cm) can sit there no problem, so shorter people okay (those who don't need leg room). Don't put old people (climbing in not that easy) or anyone above 155cm for long journeys.

But best is for you to bring the person in question to Perodua showroom to try la....

For me, I don't mind sitting at 3rd row up to max about 1 hour.
But just my 2 cents, comfort and budget does not goes hand-in hand. Besides comfort greatly differs from 1 to another personally.
Franky speaking, at this price point, there is no other options for 7 seater car. Don't compare to 2nd hand cars.

If budget is of no constraints. I believe most Alza buyer here will not go with it. But then again life is realistic and we want the best bang for bucks or at least things within our budget.

If you really concern about comfort, then go try Alza, Serena, Alphard for the 3rd row seat and compare also the price, approximately about 75k++, 150k++, 400k++. Then you can decide if the comfort of the 3rd row passenger worth 75k extra (for serena) or 325k extra (for Alphard) cool2.gif

This is just fine where occasionally need to fit 6 or 7 persons for near distance.
Coming CNY will be useful when relatives coming back for holiday. Only worry is all big size fella, is there a weight limit for d car.?

Occasionally 6 to 7 people going up to genting also not problem. It all depend how your drive and what you expect.

Slightly obese I think the car can take it. You may feel the card hitting the limiter suspension But then again this is not a pick up truck loo..

If you need a ppl carrier most of the time with long distance, then you need something like Hyundai Staria, Alphard etc. Problem is that you might not find any new Alza in Showroom, unless there is salesperson that let you have a look at the alza.
It is a small MPV. If you use the 3rd row, you will have lesser space for luggage(s). My previous car was Alza too.. 'upgrade' to this new Alza. I know my needs.

Sharing experience... 3rd row for short distance is okay. anything above 1 or 2 hours will be not comfortable for any adults above 150cm.
On carrying weight limit... good question.. the car Kerb Weight is 1145kg. Gross is 1735kg (as stated in manual).. possible this is the max but did not mentioned that this is max.

Hi, went for my 1st inspection (no service) today & raised a few queries but not convinced with service's comments. Hope to get some inputs & suggestions from the more experienced users.

Firstly, I seem to have issues with aircon controls, specifically the memory settings. Set M1 for low then set M2 for high. After that, press M1 to get the aircon back to low, instead, I got the same M2 high airflow & my control shows both M1 & M2 symbols, see image attached.

Secondly, when I washed my car, I discovered very fine scratch on both sides in front of the wheel arches. They are very fine & not deep, so, one will not detect it on casual inspection and the scratch is identical (as far as I can see) on both sides. I asked the Sales when I detected them, she said it is part of the design. So, I double-checked with the Service Advisor this morning & at the end of the inspection, he told me the same story & said he checked his Alza & just discovered the same 'fine scratch'. But, I can't see any logic in having this as a 'design' for a car. Wonder whether anyone has similar 'fine scratches'?

Those aren't 'fine scratches', its part of the design. If you trace the line up past your photo you will see it curves and becomes more pronounced all the way round over the top of the tyre. The idea is to give the illusion of a recessed wheel bracket I guess. Regardless, definitely is the design, not a scratch. My Alza has the same, pretty sure all Alza 2022+ will have it as well.

Thanks for your clarification. I just find it strange to have such design.
