Hello, between Hankook Ventus Prime 4 & Michelin Primacy 5, which one more comfortable and more gooding?.
Size 225/50R17 Price Hankook Prime 4 is RM380 Price Michelin Primacy 5 is RM 550 Currently using Hankook Ventus Prime 3, All I can see, this tyre comfort level is very good. but, only one downside, the tyre is not that silent. everything else, handling, wet, dry, comfort level, braking, all I satisfied. Its like a perfect tyre for my diriving pattern. Always in my mind want to change into prime 4 until primacy 5 come out. only downside I see about primacy 5 is design is so damn ugly. dont know u all agree or not about this. lol. |

What u notice switch from Ventus 3 into Primacy 4?. can tell me the difference.. Primacy 4 design is quite beautiful, but suddenly primacy 5 design is very different. michelin really want to differentiate the design maybe, dont want to look same like pilot sport 5. but design primacy 5, quite weird. If primacy 5 design as beautiful as pilot spot 5, I not hesitate to pull the trigger.I will choose Primacy 5 anyway as I'm happy with my current Primacy 4. Money well spent. One more things, I remember, I ask shop, the price of continental max contact 7, is almost same as primacy 5 for 225 50 17. but max contact 7 is not touring tyre right. but threads pattern show mc7 is like comfort tyre wo. or this mc7 compund is hard type?. I interested with mc7 threads too, but scared not comfortable as ventus 4 and primacy 5

I tot MC7 tire compound is a bit stiff due to uhp..but I do read user review this tyre sidewall a bit soft, so that made me include this tyre in consideration. before end of this month, will change either into vp4, primacy 5 or mc7VP4 & Primacy 5 is categorised as a premium touring tire. |

In terms of aquaplaning resistance, Primacy 5 would be the best. |

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Jul 3 2025, 09:03 AM) Usually UHP tires would have softer tire compound for more grip. Their sidewalls are generally stiffer than touring tires. This, UHP gives better grip (its main priority), lower Treadware because it gives more grip hence use a softer compound. compared to ECO tyres, which give lesser priority for Grip, hence a harder compound. The mid-range is between. My guess, MC7 will provide the best grip compared to VP4 & Primacy 5. However, it could be noisier & wear out faster. In terms of aquaplaning resistance, Primacy 5 would be the best. To me, I'm already fed up with Continental tyres in general cz their weakness in Wet traction. Bought a car that comes with UC6, one of the worst tyres on wet in my experience, pros are it's quiet and ok for dry, but comes rain, its struggling. Read many user for MC6, similar feedback, better than UC6 obviously but rain, its struggle also, far off from its benchmark, the Michelin PS series. Then the price. MC7, iinm losses to PS5 prices if pandai find at a good tyre shop. Especially the Oscar, iinm PS5 is similar or cheaper a bit vs MC7 from Continental tyre shop. QUOTE(GuyM @ Jul 3 2025, 10:07 PM) Trying out this giti sport s2 to replace ps4 which has clocked 51k km. Using 45 series instead of stock 40 series for slight comfort. So fast quiet, have not tried corner or wet braking believe this is Civic FE rim, hence use 235/40/18 as stock, whereas the Accord G9 uses 235/45/18. Previous tyres come with Michelin PS4, later review this model |

QUOTE(ktek @ Jul 3 2025, 10:31 PM) we same. abandon prime3 after 1 year. Actually, it all depends on our driving style. eco tyre or touring tyre definitely crap or trash if user push the tyre a bit. I drive my relative car which equipped with toyo cr1. the tyre exremely comfortable. no matter what road surface, even harsher tarmac, it will absorb road imperfect, perfectly. problem is u cannot feel the grip at all even u drive slow. and scary things is, if u push the tyre, u already feel ur car floating not planted to the road.before that, was using MC5. i felt they both are equal level only. And I ask my relative about this, and he said, he is okay and from what I see, he definitely slowpoke driver. thats why I see he no complain. but I read review online, got few people skid already using this tyre. the tread pattern also dangerous. its so narrow. So comfortable tyre is not for everyone. it will be so dangerous if people drive a bit fast. I also scared to use this eco tyre, as I love to have higher limit tyre eventhough I not drive fast. amscouzach57 liked this post
