It automatically adjusts the amount of steering angle and gear ratio based on driving speed: basically faster speed need more steering input, lower speed need less steering input
*
I think its the opposite. Require more effort while the car is stationary. And when the car is moving need less effort to maneuver. At higher speeds, the steering needs to be stiff inorder to have good control of the vehicle.

Maybe the way I write down is the problem and communicate it wrongly - the picture below can better illustrate what I meant.

What is Variable gear ratio?
*
https://www.carsifu.my/car-reviews/honda-hr...-ratio-steering

The VGR steering in the new RS variant of the HR-V is based on the Dual-Pinion Variable-Ratio EPS (electric power steering) in the latest Civic Type R.

Honda says the VGR steering works by changing gear ratio and the amount of steering angle automatically, according to vehicle speed.

At cruising or high speeds, VGR steering provides reduced risk of oversteering, greater driving stability, confident lane changes and improved driving safety.

On winding roads, with VGR steering, there is reduced steering angle which results in less effort to turn the front wheels and thus, more driving comfort.

During cornering, VGR steering results in a smaller steering angle at lower speeds and during parking or cornering - there is greater car control and sportier driving.

With VGR steering, during highway cruising or high-speed travelling, the steering angle is increased to make it less sensitive to small movements of the steering wheel, thus increasing driving stability.

So to get dual air Cond zone , one must buy the top RS trim? The > 7.5k basic income has been mentioned . Interesting.....

Am I alone to think this could be the Achilles heel? And a deal breaker for some?

Personally to me, not having dual zone is not a deal breaker to me as i don't really use that "feature" most of the time. Single zone is fine.

But i hope the power tailgate could be offered as an optional accessories to be installed.

Honda is worse hit than Toyota in terms of chips shortage than Toyota, so maybe this is their way of evading the problem (by granting older tech?)

It may be not for you but I think it would be for many? In Thailand I think dual zone is offered to two variants out of three ? Though in Thailand , they only offer hybrid drivetrain.

Doubt Honda giving discount for a new launched car brows.gif The discount will mostly come from the SA itself.

Difference between the RS and Turbo Variants

Credits to Chin Lai Jun

Note:
- Msia Spec rims for Turbo Variant will get the RS styled rims instead of the one in the picture.
- Msia RS spec no two tone colour for the roof.

Sounds like more short changes for Malaysian. The most sensible choice is RS. But you need to have more than 7.5k basic income to get it and the appetite for the hybrid drivetrains as well as living with the sunroof

I believe this is the push from Honda for its i-MMD drive, hope Malaysian will finally bite, chew and swallow it up like our up north neighbour.

Too bad Nissan is missing the action with its e power

How nice it would be to be able to choose from three instead of two like our neighbour

Oh wait, I remember I have read it somewhere it will be difficult for Nissan...Oh here it is the article that talk about that
