Maybe my car seat is huge and it's rear facing config that's why.
If turn to front facing then it's all fine.

Ya, that chicco max is indeed big. I am using that too and waiting to fit in my new car

Based on my experience. I buy Sedan at first.

Then change to SUV coz of the bonnet capacity.

suv? ego?
*
ya

if not why SUV?

internal space not bigger but overall car size much bigger

need bigger and special tyre cause heavier body

higher gravity center = worse handling

harder to brake

the reason to get SUV always = ego

I thought you already opened a thread ?

I still suggest sedan especially Honda City.

Since your new born and baby car seat going to be rear facing config as long as they can. You will appreciate the extra room after you installed the car seat.

And sedan is easier to ingress and egress.
*
Thanks but still undecided, but tomorrow will test drive a few car. what do you think about new civic fe compare to city?

QUOTE(brkli @ May 10 2022, 01:34 PM)
overall easier to maintain (generally speaking). balance between comfort and stability (at least for toyota sedans). also depending on the driver and passenger, some might say is easier to put things in/ go in and out of it. especially if you are not tall..
*
agree, just wondering why so many people decide to buy SUV nowadays. Guess I should test drive 1.

QUOTE(toiletwater @ May 10 2022, 01:34 PM)
SUV. Sedans' sales has been dropping steadily for the past few years. So Sedans are being designed and marketed more towards younger gens by being made more sporty or trendy.

SUV suitable for all types of drivers. It isn't too hard to park. Easier to drive in long distance driving. More boot space. Doesn't cost as much as years ago.
*
Agree except the boot space sedan should win compare to SUV. I think 1 of SUV disadvantage is small boot space.

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ May 10 2022, 01:35 PM)
you need to carry and bend your body to put into car boot

but if you feel that is perfectly fine for u then why not just go for sedan
*
I never drive SUV, interested to know the visibility advantage it has over sedan. maybe need to test drive. other than that, i think i prefer sedan more.

QUOTE(teslaman @ May 10 2022, 01:37 PM)
income enough? suv cost more and more fuel
*

for driving pleasure, Sedan

pratical, still sedan

cheaper to maintain, is still sedan.
but why SUV more popular?

i can only tell u, UMNO also popular here despite all the corruption.

accerlation. Sedan ( due to lighter body )

Brake. Sedan ( due to lighter body )

Corner. Sedan ( due to lighter body, lower body )

Changing Lane. Sedan ( due to lighter body, lower body )

Suspension. Sedan ( due to lighter body )

While F1, Hypersport cost user million to go lower, lighter....

SUV go the OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

I guess this is what people define YOLO.

SUV or MPV will have a more "squarish" rear door aperture and higher roofline. This helps a lot trying to buckle in toddlers and infants into car seats. Assuming you plan to use child seats. Saved me a lot of literal head smacks on the roof of the car strapping kids in.

Bigger windows will also help potentially car sick kids if they can sit higher and see outside.

You will need a big boot opening for kids stuff...like strollers which can be difficult to load in a sedan.

Except for higher ground clearance and vantage point, I don’t really see the advantage of SUV over sedan.

Having said that, I am also considering SUV because of the vantage point laugh.gif Probably crossover like CX30 would give the balance of both world.

Thanks for pointing out these things. Seems like if main concern is baby, the SUV should be the choice.

Yes, for sedan, this or Civic FE are in the shorlist.

Hi,

I plan to buy car, family consist of me + wife + 8m/o son + unborn child. Car will use for daily drive,(fetch 2 kids to babysitter), and use as family car long distance travel(maybe once a month). Office and babysitter distance is only like 20minutes from my house. Do you guys think SUV or Sedan better for us?
