how about 800Mbps subscriber? since it the max plan available, what do they get? price reduce? hmm.gif

Not sure about this because they didn't mentioned the alternative offering for certain customers on the report. I hope it's not the same thing they offered before on 2018 for the Streamyx users cause that's probably the worst thing they could ever think of for Streamyx users. I know cause I was one of them. Just got Fibre 2 years ago for my area with the help of MCMC.

It is better that TM lowered the price instead of doubling the speed. The savings then can be used for a VPN server located in Malaysia or Singapore. Considering that even today there are no inside info about TM investing more on international connectivity, definitely will have more Unifi Connection Issues to International Servers.

Correct. 100Mbps to 300Mbps. 300Mbps to 500Mbps and 500Mbps to 800Mbps. Price will be the same but double the speed.

yes i know i like double the speed but not 6 month

i mean if 6 month mean will back speed 500mbps explain

i said not 6 month so double the speed stay without original speed back like 6 month

Supposedly this month but TM is really taking their sweet time announcing it. I think they will announce all at once including 100Mbps and above. It could be anytime within this month not actual date yet. Hopefully it's nearer than we expected.
*
By delay it, they can charge u this month RM 89, can earn RM 20 for 1 more month from so many customers, if lucky next month as well, so why not, lol. laugh.gif

To answer your question. you need to read back on the report:-

Taking a cue from its 2018 playbook, TM likely will offer a free speed upgrade for its subscribers to defend its average revenue per user (ARPU) and soften the tradedown impact. Therefore, based on its existing offerings (Exhibit 2), the RM89/month plan likely will be boosted to 100Mbps speed (from 30Mbps) while the RM129/month will be upgraded to 300Mbps (from 100Mbps).
Source

If you noticed the 'Turbo' trend that TM introduce in 2018, they upgraded the previous packages with double the speed while maintaining the price. Also, these packages are permanent as long as the user doesn't jump ship to another telco. By this, TM also lowered the cost of their packages while making access to other newly introduce package such as 500Mbps and above. Before this, I think the highest package was 300Mbps. 100Mbps before was RM300+ while now is only RM129.
If they were to make it a limited offer as you claimed for 6 months, I don't think the report would mentioned the 2018 move because it's a permanent package.

Also according to MCMC:-
This Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing shall cover the Facilities and Services that are listed below, and shall be effective from 1 March 2023 to 31 December 2025.
Source

If the access price is lower, they have no choice to also reduce the internet price and also it stated to last until 2025.

Again this is only an assumption but since MCMC has already access the price, it's probably is true. So, we still have to wait for an official announcement from TM itself.

Idk but that zyxel router for tm looks just too generic for me. Same 4 antennas design white color just like most others cheapo routers. The zyxel for digi fiber looks much better imo

Prob is nothing impressive about its latency, coverage and speed even it is wifi 6. Even lose out to my old Linksys wifi 5 mesh for all aspects.

well they want to maintain their revenue and profit so offering upgrade but user pay the same is the best way
either way they are not gonna prioritize routing reduce price or not unless u biz plan customer

if they increase speed, it won't immediately impact into higher usage consumption, still have time for consumers to react and TM to recoup. higher consumption is a maybe, but your netflix won't suddenly jump to consume additional 200Mbps.

if they reduce price, the impact will be immediate. 🤭

yup uncle nailed it
with the b40 plan , tm ald cover their bottom ald cheapest they offer will be 69 before tax only
until the end of 2025 it is unlikely to change just like the 89 stay for how long ald except for streamyz upgrade user
see if any ISP like celcom now undercut them with RM80 will we have RM 60 plan or not

Just wish to pen my thanks to members here for the info

Just got my unifi renewed renewed for 300mbps at 129 per month with 6 months free.... I didn't get a transfer ID yet but walked in and politely explain to the lady that I've been getting calls from maxis agents... She asked me what is the offer and said the above and she said they will price match... All done... All benefits accrue including unifi TV and free calls

Note: maxis has changed their migration package from 129 to 149 for 300mbps now... 6 months free remains..... So, if members want to benefit, better go to unifi early before they get wind of this

Honestly, that unifi TV box has been sitting inside the drawer since day 1....but I assume it's the standard residential plan

Basically, whatever benefits you had before accrues over

The UnifiTV package should be removed. But you still have access with your previous ID for the free channels, and the 20-second previews.

Similarly, the phone line still works, but now you will have to pay for calls...

No need. My SWU 2.0 I still have free calls to local fixed line and mobiles.
