30M unifi boosted to 300M unifi... numb already LOL
I had used 1Gbps and 500Mbps (symmetric) in lion city and back to jaybee to use 100Mbps and now 300Mbps. I would say 300Mbps is a nice spot for speed for most with enough future proof. Seriously in terms of user experience no difference to me since I do not really do so much huge files nowadays.
The only thing that makes the most difference in experience one is the mesh wifi. Previously I already had the same set of wifi 5 mesh system. But I did not manage to set them up at the right spot that allows me to have full speed in my master bedroom last time so my experience with mobile gaming was greatest affected. Now it is fixed and I am enjoying the Low latency web surfing, video streaming and mobile gaming upstairs haha.
Most people use CF warp as VPN,reason: 1.Free to use 2.Unlimited quota 3.Could be resolve the routing issue, which may routed with CF optimized routing.(But actually i think most situation is not optimized routing, but still acceptable.) 4.VPN usage is encrypted,so ISP are not able to inspect your usage, BUT if visit CF protected sites, your original IP will be expose to the site that your visits.
but the speed and latency increase very significantly. will it affect mobile gaming experience?
without WARP
with WARP

Depends of your connected warp server and gaming server. And yes warp speed slower then original internet plan speed is normal, warp or warp plus is similar, but warp plus might getting better routing. (But really not big improvement, difference is within 10% if i not wrong) CF Warp server is sharing with alot of user,so the speed slower. Especially connected to warp server that hosted in MY, warp server is not choose-able it is depend of anycast network.
I see. Then I would rather not to enable it. The speed is bad as well as the latency.
My apologies, after reading afif92 reply, I realise I was testing only at 2K. Safari only displays VP9 encoded resolutions for Youtube. This is on Mac mini M1. Apple M1 does not have hardware AV1 decoding.
Try to help my uncle to setup the free router given DVG-F2452 but why the interface look very basic/simple as compared to some pple share here? I access thru my HP or must access thru computer?
My parent house one lagi basic wifi router unifi gave. 30Mbps.
But good enough for a single storey house thought for the coverage and speed.
Seems like CGNAT also means no IPv6?
Speedtest shows high loaded latency even just stand next to the wifi router.

Unifi id @unifi is tied to the house is it? Meaning there is no way one can use someone else id to enjoy a different speed than his own subscribed speed?
Nope CGNAT only for ipv4 so 30mbps still can torrent fast fast with ipv6 if supported Provided u configure them correctly la use SLAAC+Stateless DHCP for home user. easier to configure just straight out off the box
I see. Ok. Will try it when I go my parent house next time.
Maybe I will replace their wifi router with my newly received Zyxel Wifi 6 wifi router.
Ya, I was looking also. If RM80 or thereabouts, can get one to try. Nowadays during Shp or Laz sale, got many AX routers around RM100.
I think I will go renew contract, see if can get one.
I saw one guy selling two units brand new for quite cheap price but too place I am not in KL area to deal.
Ic. But Even AX standard different products the coverage, signal strength can vary quite significantly. still better to get something that is proven to be good.
Anyone knows what password do technicians normally set on this router, DIR-842. Have tried standard passwords seems unable to. This router allows Telnet access?
It is under the router, has a sticker stated the password of “admin@xxxxx”.
