Honestly was dissapointed RS not gonna come with the 10.2 inch driver display also.... that was one of the main highlights for new civic

As mentioned by someone previously I rather they downgrade the rims and give us the display. Someone who is not happy with the stock rims is gonna change it aftermarket anyway...

Maybe its wise to wait a bit, who knows Honda might do what they did by adding Honda Sensing to City V. Civic might get full display for later batches

Sorry for being off-topic a little bit, but those were quoted in this thread.

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Nov 23 2021, 08:37 PM)
Mazda 3 everything is nice but I somehow can't stomach the fact its the most expensive but still using torsion beam at the rear when both Civic and Corolla have independent setup and double wishbones
*
QUOTE(lee82gx @ Nov 23 2021, 09:26 PM)
on the subject of torsion beam vs multi link or even A-Arm or fully independent suspension - I don't really care as long as it works. What i mean by works of course is it sits people comfortable, handles reasonably and won't roll too much.

I mean, you have wira with rear multilink suspensions and they are not exactly known for much.
Neither will I be subjecting my family sedan to the 3.5G corners at 100km/h.
*
I had been, and didn't care as you're suggesting.

Having suffered, tolerated and accepted for decades uneven tyre edge wear on a Ford saloon, wandering Land Cruiser on highway speed of 100-110 km/hr made worse during slight drizzle or slight rain etc, which IINM all these are with 4 independent suspension systems.

Besides, I have come to make regular adjustments to my driving styles according to each car characteristics in Wira ( with kind of no wheel alignment done, never mind it is a 4 independent system) and Avanza (with live axle) with grandmother road speed at taking corners .

With hindsight I came to realise that this attitude of "don't care" has robbed me of 'benefits, fun' etc in gaining nice driving experience with 'tuning' of wheel alignments particularly for a system of 4 independent suspension.

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Nov 23 2021, 09:45 PM)
Given everything else is the same (spring firmness, tuning etc), torsion beam will still be less comfortable than an independent or double wishbone setup when u go over rough roads
*
Compared to a 4 independent suspension system like those in some Civic or Corolla/Camry, a non-adjustable Rear Torsion Beam (or live axle) in a Mazda3 has handicapped or castrated options or choices of properly tuning a wheel alignment for a fun driving experience in terms of vehicle comfort, sense of steady road holding and firm handling etc.

Having said that a properly 'tuned' wheel alignment on vehicles with non-adjustable Rear Torsion Beam/Live axle (like Mazda3, Vios City Perodua etc) would give a better driving experience like stability/handling in relation to 'ill-tuned' wheel alignment done on a 4 Independent Suspension system (like Wira or Saga).

I'm of the opinion that majority of wheel alignment works reported online or in rea life are ill-tuned giving rise to huge sense of distrust or anger among car owners against wheel alignment shops and/or aligment tyremen.

Note: Am not refering to quality/brand of suspension components like absorbers, ball joints, lower control arms etc but strictly on tuning of wheel alignments.

It all comes at a price… city sensing is expensive as balls. But yeah, in Malaysia buy car = wonder why they take out the xyz features.

I’m happy to use fat donuts for our hard core military spec potholes.

Stealing information without properly accrediting is unfortunate. I still remember when Civic FC launched, and I was the TS for Civic X thread, a website & FB stole the information I gathered about what to check & known issues about the 1st batches of Civic FC. I still keep the info in the first post, just to name and shame forever.

Gotten my recognition already. biggrin.gif FB post updated liao.

Just to re-iterate, I got the pics FROM a car Whatsapp group. I’m not one of the SA that went for training. I’m not even in any line of work that is related to cars.

anyhow its still a good idea to avoid first or early batches for new car releases, especially if its CKD

Seems like our Civic RS will be a mirror of the Civic Sport trim in the US. Using same rims and also a smaller driver display

In US only the Touring trim have the 10.2 display

so unfortunately with City, you are forced to pay for everything, when all you may want is safety. (That's what I meant by its expensive). I don't mean that the safety features are not worth it, I mean I don't know what its actually worth when you force me to buy the whole premium package. I'd really like for them to give me the option to choose what kind of stupid trim (the things I may want) while maintaining a minimum, highest safety rating base model (the thing I need). If they don't or cannot then you know they are trying to earn more by assuming it is worth more than the sum of its parts.

This is actually very normal for other countries where you choose a base model or spec, then you can add on features or packs that you need or what not

Unfortunately its not the norm here. Although recently I've noticed the premium Germans (BMW for example) start to offer such options

Apparently in Honda API,

I found this

CODE

['Honda Recommended Digital Video Recorder',                     749,    ['accord','brv','city','civic','crv','hrv','jazz','odyssey','type-r']],
['Honda Recommended Digital Video Recorder - Rear DVR',         400,    ['civic-modulo']],
//['Honda Recommended Digital Video Recorder - Front DVR',         749,    ['city-hatchback']],
           ['Honda Recommended Digital Video Recorder - Front & Rear DVR<br>',                     1149,    ['city-hatchback', 'civic-modulo']],

Current civic only got front DVR, if the new civic is using the modulo code (Like previous code, we saw CIVIC Modulo 1.5 RS). Then I guess we might be getting front and rear DVR

Honda Malaysia - lanewatch can throw away. Use the blindspot monitor like Civic FE US & the special HRV better.

Also, 10.2” LCD is a must for RS. Wireless AA & Carplay too.

I'm getting the RS, but if no wireless AA & Carplay. Such a bummer, 10.2 '' cluster is a must too! Lane watch or blindspot I don't care much

So while we’re making wishes to HM, I’d like to confirm my wish for a minimally priced, 1.5T, wired (apple) car play, full Honda sense, full air bags. Amen.
