like the white face, albino or those mentioned above...

those kind of glider is not from the normal glider that we are keeping issit ?

i mean, like they mate, then their joey like become abit so called cacat lah..

like jadi albino like that...or those kind of gliders memang from tua to

muda, from datuk to cucu memang like that wan???

Added on November 22, 2007, 7:49 amanother thing...today...i went out, then suddenly my gf's housemate like sms

us, stating that, my ABU n the female are actually mating...coz she said that

there were noise from inside the cage, then she saw that ABU was actually

chasing the female and he was like kinda on top...are they actually mating?

coz ABU is like 3 months old and the female is like 2 months old..at first she

though that they were fighting..but then again..she say like they are

mating rather then fighting
*
Cacat? No.... actually, human albino also is not called cacat, to us they may look odd but they just lack pigmentation. So Albino and leucistic are quite sensitive to light, albinos are more prone to skin disorders if they are exposed to the sun too long and their eyes may become weak too. Luckily gliders are nocturnal hehehehe...

Not mating lah. LOL..... Abu is still a joey, your female is a joey. Abu manja, he wants to be carried. That is how the mother glider carries her joey when it is out of pouch. The joey would cling and ride on her back. So if Abu is on top of her, he is just asking for a piggy back ride.

All gliders sexually mature at around 6 or 7 months onwards.... breeding too early is not so good so some of us here, we practice separation 1st and only let our male and female gliders be together when they are passed 7 months.... troublesome but this is to be safe lah.

sweat.gif Haaa.... Well, personally I would advise not to put them so young together, if the female sexually matures earlier, then she will get pregnant too young. sweat.gif

Normally gliders would be sexually matured at 6 months onwards, I've never heard of any younger sexually matured ones tongue.gif

If the female matures earlier, but the male not matured, cannot also right... Hahaha, just saying...

Some people i know who keep a pair of male and female together from young have not gotten any off springs even when they're already 10 months plus...

That's why we have some people complaining or asking, why my gliders all already 10 months or 1 year, but still no babies?

Each glider is different on every term... Mebbe staying together from young makes them too comfortable with each other to even mate sweat.gif Haha laugh.gif

I think that still depends on people's view, but proper introduction is a must no matter what age they are.

I guess I'm the better safe than sorry type. biggrin.gif Because if they are encouraged to house different sexes together so early, chances of early breeding is more likely to happen as more and more ppl practice this. Once bred already, it will affect the female, and then once that happens, we can't really do much. That's why I prefer to not encourage it.

If the male is older than the female by a few months, then for sure the female would breed once she reach breeding age.... but if both are same age.... it could be either breeding once mature or later.... yah, each glider got their own time lah, depends also.... I think the best breeding age is when the female is about a year old....

Well, okay...

Cuz I've heard many people that keep their male & female pair from young haven't bred yet, that's why...

Yeah, once bred it will definitely effect the female... Not much can be done unless you don't breed them...

Speaking of which I haven't had the chance to actually talk with Dr. Yeoh about that... He is one busy doctor lah... Wanna talk also so fast-fast... laugh.gif

The easiest way is to just type any key words that you need to know about in Google and wah-lah, you'd be getting tonnes of links and answers wink.gif

Anyway, some places you can refer to(which I Googled it too) on introducing gliders:

http://www.sugar-gliders.com/glidervet-5.htm#intro

http://www.petsugargliders.com/sgintro.php

http://www.glidersanonymous.com/introductions.html

There's a lot of stuff that you need to read about, don't skip! To know the proper care and such about gliders, you must read, and read, and read... Different sites will tell you slightly different things, you must digest and think carefully of what suits you and your glider best.

Good Luck!

Today i when to Pet Safari ( Ikiano ), those sugar glider all gone already... don't know where they go also. Hope they take by nice master with nice care for them.
Just saw 1 sugar glider dry food product there, look like same as old 1 that honey + mealworm, just change packaging.

Yesterday I feed my hedgehog for royal canin cat food, don't know y Ah Pit suddently jump out and walk around the cage, so i giv her 1 pic of dry cat food, she taste it and like it very much, but i won't giv her more biggrin.gif ( Althought last 2 year i wrongly feed her for cat food. )

Yes, we are aware of the pet shop in OU near Eneos tu. We have discussed about it before.

They sell cheap gliders which is most probably sub-adult or adults.

Health wise, don't even ask.

We have also advice people not to buy from there.

Bear in mind, cheap gliders are mostly sub-adult/adult that are not tame and requires a hell lot more commitment, work and a lot of patience.

---

How big was this 700+ cage?

You can look for big cages at Pet Safari Ikano. Some are reasonably priced too.

The biggest cage which I find is suitable for keeping gliders(or3-4 adult human in it...) is only RM450. But it is too big to be kept indoor... There is also one that is RM750, but funnily enough it is smaller than the RM450, perhaps the manufacturer is different...

Mine like Persimmon and Ciku hahahah.... after they have tried those, now don't want papaya already. Naughty gliders. But then not all Persimmons are sweet.... sometimes we get the ones that aren't really ripe, then the sweetness is not there but crunchy like carrot hahaha.

Then today is their lucky day wink.gif This persimmon I have is very-very scweet! laugh.gif

Mine don't really like ciku, normally they don't finish it off and jsut leave the whole cage to become smelly...

Ohh dear, I'm guilty for not cleaning their cage last weekend and this is the first time it is not cleaned for almost 2 weeks! Arghhh!

Tomorrow morning must clean it fast...

Why is December taking so long... Wanna get their home fast...
