you know, i've read thru and come to see that the difference between iphone and an ipod touch is the obvious fact that apple 'trimmed' lots of functionality for ipod touch. they stripped the calendar event adding function, notepad, google maps and thus making ipod strictly just a pmp. But lately i saw ppl able to jailbreak ipod touch and install iphone apps into it. thus making it seems like a viable choice since most of us already owned a moderate to decent cellphones. But i couldn't help thinking that iphone has the ability to use Edge to access the net whereas ipod touch don't... it needs wifi. But then again, looking at our local providers, i think it's safe to say that i wouldn't subscribe to the monthly infinite usage edge package just to use it for my potential iphone. Kinda ironic huh? the thing is i'm kinda torn between iphone and ipod touch... both are equally useful. But so far can their functionality rivals those of windows mobile based OS pda? for starters, those devices starting to incorporate GPS.

Via iTunes, no. Via 3rd party applications, yes.

~Got this from iPodTouchFans.com~
Someone skin-wrapped their iTouch, this is the best way without the bulky cases for your iTouch. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « You can try Anapod, pretty good app. |

Warranty is voided? Absolutely not! A simple "Restore" will return this to its factory default" state, and is absolutely undetectable from the unmodded, virgin models.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeereeeeeeee's Nemo! ![]() A very time-consuming tasks, but achievable. Twice i screwed up Springboard/Summerboard modification/patch, in the end, had to resort to restoring twice, and doing the manual copy via logging on the iPod Touch's Wifi IP address via FTP. Then you have to change the permission of EVERY SINGLE FILE you FTPed into the Touch to the "0755" Octal value, a couple of reboots (turn off, NOT SLEEP!), and im done. Managed to get Mail, Notes, Calendar (with editable entries!), Weather, Maps, as well as Stocks.app , which is privy previously to iPhone only, running happily on the iPod Touch. ApolloIM and TONS of other Summerboard themes as well, and you can see, Nemo and Marlin says hi! All this needed the files that are copied over during installation, to be marked with the specific permission Octal value "0755". Click on "Properties" when you selected a particular file in your chosen FTP/SSH client (CuteFTP, WinSCP, etc) and make the necessary adjustments. This need to be done since most of the programs appearing on AppTapp/Installer.app are made for iPhone and they still carry the "0644" Octal value. Some of these programs will play nice with iPod Touch, while others will absolutely refuse to work at all, unless you change its Octal value. And some may even refuse to load at all, and boot you off to Spring/Summerboard. The compatibility list of what's working on iPod Touch and what's not can be found here. How to start jailbreaking into iPod Touch using the 1-click Windows solution, using the TIFF exploit , can be found here. How to install iPhone apps (Weather, Stock, Notes, MobileMail and Maps) guide can be found here. At the moment, i DO NOT recommend newbies to try this, it is pretty time-consuming, and the results may vary. Like i said, i've gone through two Restores before making it right, so if you do go forward with this, do it cautiously. Im here for any questions if anyone have them.
