Infact iPhone and iPod touch uses new audio chip, so newer is better. What they mean is the physical button/volume rocker that lacks. We need to use the touchscreen to adjust volume. iPhone has a volume rocker at the side of it.

yes, on my ipod touch, i have the same problem with you. but it doesn't bother me.

It is not butter smooth. I have trouble streaming a 10 minute video cause it occasionally lags for buffering. I have a wireless hotspot at home and I intentionally try youtube at 3.30am (when all my other hsemates are soundly asleep). I was inside my room while the wireless router was about 10~12 feet away in the living hall. I also used 802.11g that time.
Perhaps I should try closer or direct sight with the wireless router.

Again, it may be due to settings / ISP. I still have not figure out why. Other touch users care to help test the youtube out?

how about listing out all the ipod touch owners? I believe we have quite a number of touch users

Have taken it outside and surf with Airzed. Seems to work too

Try Lowyat MacStudio if your location is in KL. They just got a restock last Friday. The last I saw both variants are still abundant. Also try Fotokem, I saw average of 4 units per store. The Gadget store also carrying the new iPod. I think the availability is still healthy. Not many people know of the new iPod. They know of iPhone but not Touch cause I tried to send my unit for lamination and the lady couldn't recognize the product.

It's a glitch in iPhones as well as the iPod touch. In Coverflow mode, it is even included in the list "flowabale" but when you tap it , it only plays audio. Future updates should fix this.

Seems like you are getting the faulty iPod Touch just like the case that came up during the first iPod Touch launch in the USA a few weeks back. This is due to the sensitivity and misalignment of the calibration of the Touch , that you cannot reach the end of the "slide" to unlock your Touch. Go make an exchange immediately.

It does come preloaded with images, mostly the white silhouettes with colored backgrounds. I've uploaded my own custom hires wallpapers into my Touch and iPhone.

That is exactly what happened to my first unit. The lower right portion of the touch screen is dead. Try sliding to unlock by touching a larger area of that button. If you are able to access the keyboard, the I, K and M keys are insensitive too which confirms the problem. Currently no software restore is possible to fix the problem and replacements are the only option.

Bring back to the store that you bought from and do a one-to-one exchange.

On an unrelated case, my second unit do have some glitches every now and then. Sometimes it is not able to do a sync. It'll always come back with a 'time-out' error. There's a workaround for this, go to the Device Manager (PC) or equivalent (for Mac) and lookup for Apple Mobile Device Driver. Then uninstall it and let it re-detect the Ipod Touch. It'll work as normal after that.

Check for dead pixels, inverted blacks, and see if it had this defect on unable to slide the slider to unlock all the way to the end. Other than that, touch "her" and keep her safe from pickpockets and envious eyes.

P/s: Im always here , bro. Just that i get violent allergic reaction whenever i try and venture into the Console Couch sections, dont know why and dont really care. Caring hurts.
