Yes already did, the very first day I moved in this April, they already drag from morning till night walking nonstop dont know doing what, out of kindness, we decided to go up and talk to them nicely, what they replied was just "ok we'll try" then continue doing so.

After that one of the tenant brought guest over. they were like keep dragging the chair I dont know why, I went up around 3AM and their door was open wide and chit chatting loudly there.

But after numerous of complaints, they're still like that. Management also cant do anything, what management told us was "We already told them not to make noise, if they're doing still, what more can we do?"

I even met with their owner, turns out to be their friend, with super arrogant tone and told us "As you know this place only cost 300k so the flooring is very thin one" So what?? That doesnt mean you can make noise like that right?? I even showed them the sound recording, and promised that will buy the chair pad but they didnt!!

If you say until vacuuming also neighbour or top/bottom fella can hear then it’s really a shitty situation la. Because it’s just vacuum and its not even loud, like that already disturb neighbour, i open my speakers louder then a vacuum sound on a daily basis.

So yeah, you’re basically shit out of luck if the neighbour above is not civilized. But don’t think it’s all dreamy for landed house also, at least a good location semi-d/bungalow.

If its just a typical linked house, also 2x5 la, hugely depends on neighbour, your toilet, rooms, living area is just seperated by a 6inch~ thick wall, right beside you left and right.

Then I think the flooring is really thin. Try to move to other place. If possible find with empty unit above.
Or some unit owner will come once in a while. You are lucky if you get such unit on top.

And try to avoid agreement that is 1 year fixed contract. Meaning you have to forfeit your deposit if you move out within the year. Sometimes the house got problem that's why they implement such a term.

Try to find for contracts that give you one or two months notice. With that, you can move out easily. Deposit will be given back.

To be fair you can't expect your neighbours to tip toe around their apartment just to please you. If normal activities like pulling a chair to sit on or get up, walking, vacuuming, opening and closing doors and kids playing disturbs you, you may be extra sensitive to noise and not suited to staying in an apartment. Not everybody sleeps at 12.00am. It doesn't help that many apartment walls and floors are very thin now. If your neighbour makes noise intentionally to annoy you, you have a case but if they are just going about their normal activities your complaint will fall on deaf ears because what else can they do? To them they are just behaving normally.

similar experience here when move into high rise unit:
at some point of the time, i will hear "dragging" sound from my upper unit.
the "Dragging" sound will happen for an extend of time, initially i was really annoyed and puzzled , like, what the heck is the upper unit doing.

until myself start vacuum my own unit , then only realize the similarity, that dragging sound is high chance from the vacuum machine head's wheel , moving around the floor, just that the vacuum sound do not reach me (all our unit comes with wood floor layer), most likely vacuum sound is not loud enough to penetrate the floor when compare to wheel dragging against the floor.

no reason to complain for my case , unless the noise start like , early morning 1 am or 2 am like that

We need more people who think like this. Many people will be surprised to know how noisy they themselves are just by going about doing normal routines.

So by right, people playing loud music or kids jumping, banging, running and stomping past midnight when people are trying to sleep is okay to you? It may be their normal behavior but when this behavior intrudes with other people’s peace and quiet, than they’re just being assholes. Apartments mean communal living so people should respect their neighbors and take heed of the complaints. We’re not staying here for free.

Fine, the vacuum and pulling of chairs is every day noise but if someone already complained about the dragging of chairs, a sane and normal person, who cares about others, would try to improve and minimize the noise. Not keep on dragging and annoying others to the point it affects their mental health.

I hate lame excuses like this…just reminds me that Malaysian’s standards are below the bar because they are too selfish and only care about themselves.

Yes they're just not civilized people, among other neighbours, they are the only one who do not sleep early and started to be so active at night, even banging nonstop the yard door for dont know what reason.

If you say vacuum during daytime ok la, why the hell do you need to vacuum from 12am onwards? sometimes 1am? You don't want to sleep doesnt mean you can disturb other people. Somemore it is so quiet at night, even tho it is not extremely loud but you can still hear the engine noise. How to sleep like that, Kik Kok Kik Kok hitting the walls all.

LOLLLLL, so meaning I can simply just make noise by doing my "NORMAL ROUTINES" despite I'm disturbing other neighbors?
Even tho ur not asleep yet , I can also constantly making irritating noise to you? I drag my chair every 20 seconds to you la ok?
Lol , this is some kind of brand new mindset to me. I think people usually comment like this are the ones that making noise.

So if i want to sleep around 11pm how? They start to make noise around 10 or 11pm then till late night 1am.
Vacuum and mopping the floor 12am onwards? WHY? It's not like they working outside or what, they're home 24-7.

Exactly!! I'm so sick of the chair dragging sound! Cause I got phobia from my previous neighbors who did it on purpose to us, every single night 12am onwards together with their kids, so currently this new place this 4 tenants upstairs love to drag the chair as well, I just cant! Also the loud footstep, woke me up every morning!!  bangwall.gif  mad.gif  vmad.gif

Are you even sure it's actually chair being dragged by the neighbour upstairs?

Do you know a lot of highrise make that kind of sound? Chair dragging sound, marble dropping, door slammed, footsteps... If those sound happen at around the same time and interval, then 100% likely that those sound aren't from people.

Normal routine, darling.

It cuts both ways. People who think their neighbours are noisy are probably making as much noise as their noisy upstairs neighbours.

eh bodoh this is a known phenomenon la. "Belum kena belum tau" bapak kau la.
I've lived in several apartments and flats during my study days. I know what it's like.

You like it or not it happens, and it's not always neighbours. I was just offering a different explanation, especially when the guy said it happens around the same time.

You tak suka you keluar. Tokok singsong here for what? Go fight with your neighbour if it bothers you so much. Sembang kari babi je on the internet for what.
