So if i want to sleep around 11pm how? They start to make noise around 10 or 11pm then till late night 1am.
Vacuum and mopping the floor 12am onwards? WHY? It's not like they working outside or what, they're home 24-7.

nono for my case the dragging noise happen only around evening or late evening (after dinner time) so im good.
if this happen around like normal human sleeping time (after 11pm), i sure complain this to management.

How do we encourage the developers to make thick floor again?

Seems like all newly built condos, even the pricier ones, are cutting costs by making the floor thin.

I think condos built around year 200x should still be fine. But later ones mostly have thin floors.

Yes that I can accept too, cause we know it's dinner time and they're using the dining chair, but mine always happen past 10pm, it's not daily ya, but sure got few days a week. Sometimes in the bedroom sometimes in the living room, then push the chair like every 20secs to 2 minutes, it's so irritating, even daytime also, push like that for 2 hours straight. For what leh ? If u say they drag for like once a twice I can accept, but its constantly dragging up to hours.
Even tho there's no dragging noise but also noisy, dropping things walking here and there.

Already complaint but useless dry.gif

I agree, but developers just dont care, they want to build it fast and with low cost, they dont even care about parking space d (condos nowadays comes with only 1 carpark). So I doubt they will make flooring thick mega_shok.gif
So just pray that we get civilized neighbors. Like I said, we quiet people, past dinner time usually sit down watch tv or laying on bed etc, but I just dont know why some people gets so active at night, so inconsiderate.

Ignore him. Really don’t understand people who come into this thread to discredit other people’s experiences.

Exactly, just ignore them, not only they discredit us, they clearly didnt even read my previous post smile.gif dahlah, susah nak explain this kind of situation to people who never experience it. Dont tell me I couldnt differentiate human noise vs piping / other phenomenon sound lor. I even confronted my upstairs neighbor, they even admitted, the guard even caught them gathering and making noise. Walao still in denial these people.

Ok that really sxxks…
Any chance to take a peak and get to know what is happening over there especially after late night ?
Is it possible that this is kids playing around ?
Don't think is vacuum cuz 2 hours is way too long , and timing also too weird to do cleaning...

Just purchase the stick on stickers for furniture and give it FOC to your neighbours complimentary. Ask them to stick onto the legs of the chairs.
They will get the message and (hopefully) they will realize,

Sometimes there's this kind of people, MR DIY kind of guy. He cannot sit quietly, he has to do something, hammering the wall, doing some DIY stuff all the time.
If you get this kind of guy as your upstairs neighbor then you are really unlucky.

Another kind is those who do online business. So they will prepare the parcels, goods arriving, arranging goods, assembling goods, etc. So, expect a lot of noise from these guys constantly.

Exactly…me thinks that person is one of those noisy mofos who like to bother other people. Of course we would know the difference between inconsiderate motherfuckers acting like monkeys in their units vs piping/structural noises. Always making excuses for their kind - low class and low EQ…god help them.

my area landed house all civilized. no noise. of course elite areas la. i think rude and noisy neighbors happen at m40 and b40 areas. elite t20 people enjoy peace and quiet so we respect each other.
*
I agree with this, actually. T20 are mostly educated people with busy working lives, thus they require peace and quiet. When I stayed overseas and in high class areas, never had any noise issues. Only having an issue now staying in a m40/b40 area - I regret everyday buying this stupid place just because it’s close to the city centre.

Moral of the story is…make sure you buy a place above RM1mil to avoid low class and rude lowlifes.

I definitely think you're right. I've lived in condos and apartments since my student days from 2003 and have never experienced this kind of noise until I bought my own condo and am losing sleep almost daily. Confronted neighbor upstairs so many times and they'd be quiet for a few days after the complaint and then start to get noisy again. And later when I confronted them again they said it's not them and continues to make noise. If I go to bed around 12am and managed to fall asleep quick then it's fine. They usually start their going to bed activities around 1am and God forbid if I also start going to bed close to 1am I'd be hearing all kinds of foot stomping, door slamming x5 at least, toilet flushing etc ughhhhh

Also, I've measured my ceiling heights of my living room vs bedroom because the noise is a lot more prominent in the bedroom.

What I found was the bedroom floor to ceiling is 5cm (or 2 inches) MORE than the living room floor to ceiling height. The entire floor surface is flat from living to bedroom. So if my understanding is right, the bedroom ceiling (or my upstairs floor) is 2 inches thinner. Seriously that is a LOT of thickness being sacrificed for unknown reasons

If it bothers you that much, look into soundproofing your ceiling. Reckon it wont cost much, i stay in landed, i even invested to sound proof my windows.

This is very true. It's all about civic consciousness. You don't ever see T20 ppl throwing curries out their windows.

Oh I'm currently like you now.... previous sub-tenants had moved out, now no more chair dragging noise cause they buy chair socks d.
But this new tenant, very young, very skinny, but walking like king kong seriously no joke.
She moved in for 2 weeks only, everyday I woke up by her footsteps, around 5-6am, or when she comes back late 2am...

You will probably be ignored. People are not expected to tip toe around just to make you happy. Have you thought that the problem may be that you are too sensitive to noise?

I just wonder la, if I was waken up by the heavy footsteps from my deep sleep, is it because im being too sensitive? Or is it they're being too loud? Not asking you to tip toe, but why walking so much in the middle of the night, when it's so quiet? And why using all your strength to just walk? It's not any of the time during daytime but it's in the middle of the night.
Those footsteps noise is like people using a rubber hammer and constantly hacking on the floor it goes 'bom bom bom bom bom", you get what i mean?

Exactly the same situation now. The kids running and jumping early in the morning and randomly at day time. Then 6pm to 10 pm, basically running, jumping, dragging things, dropping things.

After few complaints, the upstairs came to bang my door at night yelled at me that he tahan me for long time, thus shouted at me with vulgar language. Yet he repeats it more vigorously after this.

This is how Malaysian behave nowadays
