my latest update, not much new things. just finish final touch up my 9s pikes with new crankset (3sixty hollowtech crankset) and new decals. i change to 53t chainring as my current setup is 13,15 and 19t. hope there is nothing to do with my pikes.

after this i can consentrate on finishing my aceoffix bike. and to feel the same, i adopt 3 cog 12,14 and 17t with my old raceface crankset 52t chainring. now both my bike will have nearly the same setup gearing with same feeling.

kind of itchy to wait all to come laugh.gif

Hello all,new fb owner reporting in! A long process because first bought a folding bike based on gearset but then found this thread 🤦🏽 Read from V1 up till V6 then took the dip and sold the old one. Now a proud owner of a Tern Verge D9 😁😁😁 Would’ve love to buy the P10 but budget not permitting 🤣

Btw, do you guys get rid of the cassette protector a.k.a dork disk? If no why, if yes will it affect anything in the long run?

Encounter a sale of Java Zelo for RM850, is it any good? Or TRS Congo priced at RM855?Or TRS Topaz?
I am a beginner and just plan to buy it for taman ride.

finally,
after few month waiting patiently, i introduce u with my new project

aceoffix brompton copy
user posted image

got few advantages between pikes
- B measurement
- all B accessories are compatible
- perfect work+color on the frame
- feel solid, good riding feel almost identical to B

and some disadvantages
- not the best qc for handlepost and fork
- pricey!
- some pikes incompatible acessories

notes :
i collect some unused item from my previous upgraded pikes and didnt have the chance to fully tested it. will do some photoshoot on details when i had the chance.

For rm2k-ish I think a basic-spec fnhon blast is a better deal than a trs rocher IF you intend to ride one long term. If just ride for fun ride Taman in the evening, then no need spend so much lah

over this month, im have planned to change my Pikes' cog from 15t to 19t while maintaining 13t.

thus i have bought 19t cog and get my bike mechanic to work out the swapping & tuning.

unfortunately after the adjustment done. the gear shifting unable to work as intended, regardless shifting up or down.

the mechanic mentioning that the gap from 13t to 19t is too wide, though is may not able to shift up & down.

now im looking for advise, is there anything i would need to aware off or missed out?

a 6 cog jump is really wide actually, i think not even MTB would have that much of a jump

its doable, even there's 12t & 19th on the run without issue. watch the video.

just that im not sure what am i missing here. is it the chain length issue? or the derailleur? or the mechanic no idea how to do it.

last time before i running on 3cog, i had setup 13t/18t. it can be done, only some tweak on ur chain anchorage/chainpusher. thats all. no major things need to be done.

and not to forget, extend a bit ur chain. if the chain too stretch, i wont shift nicely. be sure ur chain is not too long or not too short.. from 15t to 19t need to add up around 4 links from stock. also dont forget if u change bigger chainring, chain also need to add depends on ur chainring size.

Just out of curiosity, how much should I save up to get a decent folding bike with 24/26 inch wheel (need to be able to just pack it inside my hatchback car)? I tried a 20" and I don't like it because it is wobbly while I cycle. I also bought a cheap 26" to get a feeling (it just died after a day), so I prefer one with bigger wheel. How much should I expect to spend for a decent, repairable bike, can ~RM2000 get me a good enough bicycle?

i'm not sure if the "wobbly" u mentioned was refer to the "agility/sensitivity of small wheel".

if that case u might better go with non folding bike like road bike or mountain bike.

if u insist want a big wheel folding bike, you can refer here

haha 3x3 perhaps not that soon. while current budget & time are constraint.

just started to get this simple mod of 13t/19t first. after gotten your advice, finally i had made it worked out like how you mentioned.

really appreciate your kind words that solved the issue. it is really required to extend a longer chain in order get it shifted nicely.

btw do mind to share which brand chain pusher are you currently using that fits on Pikes? as i saw your chain pusher is slightly longer downwards.
