Hmm... I don't like the idea of smacking even lightly to teach your dogs. Someone is bound to smack too hard one time.

Barking not necessarily bad. Mika 99% of the time is friendly to people I walked up to. If she barks at home after hearing something outside, I reward her. She did the right thing.

If an electrician, cable, and others that are not 'friends', I keep her in another room before greeting them. If she barks, I also reward her after that. It's good to teach your dog to read signs from you to know who's friendly and who's not.

Of course I'm just talking about barking. Bitting and signs of other aggression are different and need to be dealt with differently.

Added on September 14, 2007, 12:49 ami only smack mikey's butt if he barks and growls at other dogs because i don like him getting aggresive with them...i rather him be more friendly a lil to other dogs...as for biting he is definatly forbidden from doing that unless he is chewing his own toys...or else he knows he is gonna get rotan..
shih tzus are well know for their stubborn-ness so i think if he let them get a habit out of it, they would bcom more and more stubborn and soon will bcom your boss... so i rather control him since he's young...

mikey too noti to stay and let me groom him ler..so i cant groom him properly ler...so in the end i jus sent him for basic grooming every month...lol...

Casper's sister, Morris sold to a person (not sure man or woman in PJ). I found on Dogster: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/463616 and message him / her and he / she confirmed said from same breeder.

This is how she look like now... so preeettttttttttttttyyyyyyy. Last time didnt buy, really wasted cause can hardly find Westie got fur like this.

One silly question, if I bought last time and they mate and breed - what will happen if both come from same parent? Like incest but they are doggies - will they know / understand / have problems?

sibling cannot be mate and breed ..just like human..sibling oso cannot together..that's the reason .
sure got problem wan...actually my mu got a friend got a mix breed dog..dunno if is shihtzu mix silky ( i think so ) then my mum's friend told me the doggy mum and dad is sibling that the dog a bit crazy wan ler...meaning tat when see a postman oso..will crazy till wan bite the postman..sometime owner oso will forget..will bark back owner..

but Morris really pretty and i love her fur ...i will add her dogster later haha...

I dont thikn I will do that la... Maybe a small C at his butt like tattoo, quite gaya also. I will find chance later when his fur grow back. Yes, I gila grooming already, it's quite fun actually but I wont make him botak because fur grow back will be rougher I heard.

Yes, Casper feels more comfortable when I groom him than the pet shop uncle does. He will just lie down and relax, I zap his back. When I want to zap his front, I will make him lay down and my sister will hold him... he will rest his head on the floor and let me do my work. Occassionally, he will lift his head up to check check if I'm doing a good job. I am having fun, so is he!

Every month spend RM30? You should practise, make him learn so you get to learn too.

coz their genetic de reccessive genes would actually come together and make dog with not gd gene de...

Oh I see... the dog will have some kecacatan? Ok, I get it but now I need to find a female Westie that look like this. I kind of feel wasted that I didnt buy Morris last time but now I already love Casper and his intelligence - too damn smart.

I still feel I should have bought Morris too... The fur, really is a rarity even among Westies. Only Morris and Kuro in the entire Dogster have this kind of fur.

i oni get to trim his paw fur so far...as for his face he never let me groom one ler..coz his snout is too close to his eyes so he gets irritate and sensitve easily...so i got no choice ler...i tried to cut once but then i got a bit too close to his eyes till i oso scare ler..i quickly withdraw and stop grooming dy...

Yea, the face part can be very tricky. I seldom groom the face as I want his fur to grow more... My Casper is a little bit on the botak side, his head fur not like his sister, Morris.

You have to be careful with the eyes so it's best that you hold his head from behind and cover his eyes with your palm while you work on his face area.

I have not seen any other Westie that look like Morris or Kuro lor... The head punya hair come up without having to apply hair gel. Really nice, even the Irene Kang champion breed in Penang cannot fight these two.

Somehow, I am now feeling regret, I didnt buy Morris last time. Hope my female Westie will look like this in the near future.

me and my bf both holding down mikey would also still be a challenge...he never liked anyone covering his face...and if u do cover his face, he will make sure he bite your hand nice and hard...

That is something you have to teach him lor. I can play with Casper closing his eyes or irritating his face or putting my hand in his mouth. When I used to feed him medicine, he bites too and I should OWWWW! loud loud and he stops.


I need to check with you something. I visited my old breeder telling him that I want a female westie. He told me that he can bring his sire (casper's dad) and stud a dam (not casper's mom). Would this consider inbreeding if casper's future wife comes is actually his step sister of the new litter (same dad and different mom)? Would this bring any problems?

Siblings incest is wrong I know.

How about casper and morris' pups? or casper and the step-sis? My breeder tells me step sisters are ok. Sounds unhygenic I know. Hahaha... How about same mother but different father?

So the combination =

same dad, diff mom
same mom, diff dad
morris' daughters (neice?)

Will all this consider inbreeding? I am not well knowledged about all this so I better ask you cause as much as my breeder is a nice guy who lives near my gf's place, he is still a breeder who tries to make money from selling dogs - so I just want to ensure it wont be any problems later or immoral or whatever.
