Went to BEST and evaluated the 32" 100Hz models all using normal std components. Tried it with both DVD and Blu-Ray movie. Here are the findings (based on my eyes of course):

Philips 9432 - Very smooth picture, outweigh D300. Natural colour. With USB.
Sharp A53M - PQ not as good as expected. Look blur / not as sharp as the rest of the models. Colour not sharp.
Sony 300 - Sharp colour and smooth motion picture.
Panasonic 700MK - Sharp colour and smooth picture. Comes with SD slot which others don't.

Overall my conclusion:
Am disappointed as the initial plan was to get A53M. But however after much thought and observation, now might consider D300 as it gives a balance result when watching DVD and Blu-Ray disc. In DVD, Philips provides really natural and smooth picture, but PQ on Blu-Ray is different as the details of picture (i.e face of person) looks computer generated. On the other hand, Panasonic is not bad at all, plus it comes with SD slot, which could be useful for viewing photos (at least to me). My 2 cents.....

D300 cost RM4499 ?
Sharp A53M cost RM 3300 ?
Panasonic 700MK cost RM3700 ?

The prices are different few hundres between each other, hence the quality will different as well ?
Do you try to watch that models with Astro as well ?

Nope no Astro available in Best.
Sony D300 - 3900
Sharp - 3200 (or lesser)
Panasonic - 3700
The above prices are from diff shops. So it depends which model the individual desire...

Not much difference unless you like watching sports programs. Anyway, the new Sony Bravia lineup for 2008 will consist of mostly Full HD models and even the V series has been blessed with Full HD. They have extended this to the 32 and 37 inch models too. I guess Philips inspired them to do so since the current cheapest Full HD LCD in the market is Philips. Lets hope the new lineup from Sony will be attractively priced but I can safely say that the Z, W and V series should be available in Malaysia.

My dad juz got a LG 32LC7R from a shop. RM 2299. Quite a decent price for its quality. Contrast ratio 10000:1 and its LCD panel..but the downside is 50hz only. The picture quality comparable to the Sharp one biggrin.gif
