I recalled you will have to convert back to the RM when you wished to cashout. Fins out first if you are able to transfer out to another ctry bank acct. when you wished to access your funds.

Based on hsbc premier, you can say transfer your GBP to your kid UK hsbc or used it for withdrawal while in uk without any FX changes or fees. You can make payment foreign transaction from the gbp acct.

Its not meant for you to fx back to myr unless the rate is attractive say myr drop.....

Tq gamenoob.

I was commenting on the Maybank FCA's foreign currency holdings in the FCA. Does Maybank allow you to TT out your, say USD to an SG USD bank account ?

Or TT-in USDs from an SG USD bank acct to be placed into the FCA USD Fixed Deposit ?

HSBC Premier shld be doable,...

Somehow,... I wouldn't want to lock-up my funds in a Fixed Deposit. I'd want to average down when I feel like it,...

Hence, I've chosen to put my SGD into FSM's Cash Acct... 0.55% p.a., calculated daily and banked-in every quarter. For other foreign funds, yes, into 1-mth FDs. ...

I've also applied for the SSB, November Tranche,...

What have you guys done ?

SGD FD in CIMB SG now 3.1%. 0.55% is too low I guess.
USD FD in DBS also reach 4.42%, not bad already.

Thank you for responding, bro,...

Emm,... I was thinking I don't want to lock-up my funds in an FD. Because interest rates are still rising. I will only commit to an FD when I suspect the interest rates have peaked.

Seconldy,... I would want to average down or average-up when I feel like it. So,... don't really want to lock-up my funds, bro,...

Bro,.. DBS FD, 1-mth,... ONLY 3.28%. Got above 4% ??

MMF got principal risk,... at the point of taking-out, you may not get back your full principal, let along any 'interest' to be earned.

Bro where do you get DBS FD 1M is 3.28%? Which currency is that?

I check the foreign currency FD rates: https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/rates-onlin...-fixed-deposits

and SGD FD rates: https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/rates-onlin...-fixed-deposits

can't find anything. Is it OTC promo rate?

Ok bro,.. don't know-lar,... frankly, I'm still for the higher-risk instruments,... buying-in when I feel like it. Hence, I would want my funds to be liquid and capital-secured.

Sg mmf are quite secure. Never see any issue with them.

You mean United SGD Fund Cl A? It has dropped 3% for the past 1 year vs. other mmf funds.

That's exactly what I was illustrating for KDI Save and Versa's case...

"Short-term" bonds can also be marked down when rates rise significantly. Good that you showed this chart. smile.gif

ya... learning the hard way as I am still vested in this United SGD Cl A fund, used to have better return than Lion Global and Philips MMFs but also much more volatile

Can anyone confirm that OCBC SG does not have foreign time/fixed deposit rates?

I only found UOB and DBS USD FD rates, but couldn't find comparable data from OCBC's SG website. https://www.ocbc.com/personal-banking/depos...rest-rates.page (It shows 0% for all currencies).

I have decided to move my HKD funds over to DBS SG for short 1-2 months USD FD parking as the rates are quite favourable compared to the 0.3% p.a. rate given by Mox.

You can try tiger USD mmf. It's one of their recommended funds. I believed run by Fullerton.
