From what i can see seems like those TCCD RAM are not able to perform at full potential in P4 platform.What a waste man. wink.gif

Yes correct,3.4GHz is the highest and yet is very hard to get it.

@colinwong89,10k rpm 40mm fans?That's is super noisy man.Why need to high rpm fans?I think is better to use bigger fan like 60mm or 80mm fan to blow on the RAM,much more silent. sweat.gif sweat.gif

If i would like to add a fan on my RAM there,i also need the 40mm fan on it right?10k rpm is really noisy on that speed.My RAM is attached with an aluminium heatspeader,i found it is hot when loading. wink.gif

Yea.. Found that my system was in control when vcore is high. As my ram run on 2.85v, vAGP only 1.6. 0.5 higher then normal. The rest is default. Set my ram bus length to 4way instead of 8way. Timing is 2.5-4-4-6.

That's kinda worth to buy the cooler man. drool.gif

Everyone seems stat lapping NB huh? So do me.. Just place the extra 2 ram sink on my NB. Hehe.. Small lapping but mange to drop 3'c temp during 3.6Ghz! Procs only 40'c and NB 39'c!

@pengster
Didnt run PI last night when get that speed. Due too late already.. Haha! Sleepy thou.

Your GC can score 8k+ in 3D mark 03 is considered very high man.My 5900 can't reach that. sweat.gif Between nice to see you add on additional RAM sink on the NB transistor there.My NB place will rise up to 40+ degree celcius when loading.

but when i use Asrock the score can go to 12K++ 1G ram only

so complicated la this p4p800.

Your proc and GC are running on stock or what?Properly your proc is on stock speed.

QUOTE(fylon @ Sep 8 2007, 01:53 PM)
Haha.. That 8k score is with 98PRO original bios without modding. Guess will get better score if modded into XT bios. By then, this card really can go very high on core and memory. Alot of headroom for hynix chip. brows.gif Push the core speed from 380mhz til 450mhz still no artifact found. So as for the ram, from 680mhz til 750mhz. Still running fine artifactless. laugh.gif Damn happy with the result.

Yea.. Finally manage to drop my NB temp. Without ram sink is around 42'c lidat. Kinda scare with do priming. But now it drop til 39'c consider ok liao..
@GCI99

Bro, u using p4p800 or p4p800 deluxe? Haha.. Thats weird.. Play around with ur ram setting? And try push ur proc higher. That helps getting better score thou.

By then guys, Geil and superTalent brand, which one got better OC ability?
*
I think that your 98pro is a gem,directly flashed to 98xt bios.NB temp at 42 is considered normal i think.But after adding RAM sink drop to 39 degree C sounds good too. Then about the RAM,i think Super Talent is better then Geil one.Geil RAM isn't so famous among overclockers.

Haha.. Yea! I think about that too. Its surprise with i see the result.. By then need to rescue my floppy 1st. Then can mod it.

By then i think my NB temp drop is due to the zalman fan. The fan comes with power air flow thou. The air blown on the NB thats why temp will drop.

Ic.. Bcos my fren wanted to sell his ram ma. Then i ask, which is better. Guess like i have to choose between supertalent and xTeem.
*
Super Talent and TeamXtreem are both good in AMD platform overclocking.Seems like you are trying to look for those BH5 RAM is it ?

I am not sure what chipset it is using too....its handpicked 5ns rams...but 280Mhz 1:1 at 2.5-3-3-6 is good smile.gif
*
280MHz on AMD properly won't be go that high in Intel P4 Platform,i've read reviews on on AMD and Intel which are using same RAM and found AMD will always better in high FSB that Intel P4 platform.I think our chipset is limiting the RAM's performance. sad.gif

Haha.. Dare not to say will archived the speed that u mention. But can try to make it thou. Run on 450/750 before, and it was artifact less for the card, so i assume it can hit that speed. laugh.gif

Well anyways, guys my new result.. biggrin.gif

Hit 3.75Ghz @ 3-4-4-8 timing. Gota lower then the timing to get this stable speed. Tried with 2.5-4-4-6 but unfortunately my system become not stable. Suddenly will restart. sweat.gif

I'm on p4 2.4b at 2.65Ghz with 1 512mb kingston ddr333 and 1 512mb apacer ddr333 on 2.5-3-3-7 timing. My prime95 ran 8 hours with 1 error on the blend type of the torture test. Just wondering is my system stable or not.
*
Do you run the speed on normal applications and gaming?Does it cause restart or any blue screen?If not should be ok ofr that.

I think 3-4-4-8 is the best you can set if wanna achieve higher speed. Maybe you can try change it to 2.5-4-4-8 juz for testing since dropping from 3 to 2.5 would juz give a minimal difference. smile.gif
@raymond
Mind to change my system too? biggrin.gif
Team Xtreme 512mb x 2
Abit AI7
HIS x1950pro AGP
@zeipher
I guess still ok, perhaps try adding little voltage or loosen the ram timing? smile.gif

That's why most P4 users are usually using the Hynix RAM for the mobos not the high performance RAM. sweat.gif

Last time Hynix D43 also got for high performance....but for high performance, ppl rather go for BH-5/UTT chipsets instead

D43 is more on the value rams.....well it depends on luck also ler, some of the Intel users can overclock higher with TCCD rams >.>" 270Mhz++ if I am not mistaken
*
D43 chips seems like works better than the high performance RAM in majority but i've seems there are people who doesn't clock high on FSB even on high performance RAM.TCCD based RAM i think is seldom working good in our platform from what i seem and yet it's hot even only need low voltage to run on(This one i found on Opteron platform from my friend).BH5 wise the mobo need high voltage to support in high FSB while the UTT chip is rare to be found. sweat.gif

Decided to give my BH5s one last try before I place it back into the storeroom. smile.gif

After 5 hours of continuous searching in forums, I read that problems for certain boards not being able to boot with BH5s is because of the low default voltage that it starts with. So the solution was to 'jumpstart' the RAM, by taking a cheap stick, setting a higher voltage then swapping it back.

So far, able to do 250MHz 2-2-2-6 with a few problems, which the causes might probably be the heat generation, RAM slot order or wrong placement. My board won't boot up at 2-2-2-5 no matter what sad.gif
*
I think BH5 is preferring on 3.2 or 3.3V to run in high FSB.The higher the better but will suffer in heat generation. sad.gif BH5 is good at high FSB with tight timing. thumbup.gif

how about loosne a bit the timing like 2-3-3-6 etc? also the same?
need extra cooling then, but normally BH5 come with ramsink. maybe just add the fan blowing the ram will do. but only afew mobo come with 3.3v vdimm.
*
Ya usually they do come with Heatspreder.But it's still going to be hot and need a fan blowing on them.Er...I think colin's mobo can reach 3.3v on the vDimm right?His AI7....Last time i used to have it but not so sure on the highest vDimm it has.
