From what i can see seems like those TCCD RAM are not able to perform at full potential in P4 platform. What a waste man.

Yes correct,3.4GHz is the highest and yet is very hard to get it.
@colinwong89,10k rpm 40mm fans? That's is super noisy man.Why need to high rpm fans?I think is better to use bigger fan like 60mm or 80mm fan to blow on the RAM,much more silent. |

If i would like to add a fan on my RAM there,i also need the 40mm fan on it right?10k rpm is really noisy on that speed. My RAM is attached with an aluminium heatspeader,i found it is hot when loading.

QUOTE(fylon @ Sep 8 2007, 01:53 PM) Haha.. That 8k score is with 98PRO original bios without modding. Guess will get better score if modded into XT bios. By then, this card really can go very high on core and memory. Alot of headroom for hynix chip. I think that your 98pro is a gem, directly flashed to 98xt bios.NB temp at 42 is considered normal i think. But after adding RAM sink drop to 39 degree C sounds good too. Then about the RAM,i think Super Talent is better then Geil one.Geil RAM isn't so famous among overclockers.Yea.. Finally manage to drop my NB temp. Without ram sink is around 42'c lidat. Kinda scare with do priming. But now it drop til 39'c consider ok liao.. @GCI99 Bro, u using p4p800 or p4p800 deluxe? Haha.. Thats weird.. Play around with ur ram setting? And try push ur proc higher. That helps getting better score thou. By then guys, Geil and superTalent brand, which one got better OC ability? |

QUOTE(fylon @ Sep 8 2007, 04:12 PM) Haha.. Yea! I think about that too. Its surprise with i see the result.. By then need to rescue my floppy 1st. Then can mod it. Super Talent and TeamXtreem are both good in AMD platform overclocking.Seems like you are trying to look for those BH5 RAM is it ?By then i think my NB temp drop is due to the zalman fan. The fan comes with power air flow thou. The air blown on the NB thats why temp will drop. Ic.. Bcos my fren wanted to sell his ram ma. Then i ask, which is better. Guess like i have to choose between supertalent and xTeem. I am not sure what chipset it is using too....its handpicked 5ns rams...but 280Mhz 1:1 at 2.5-3-3-6 is good QUOTE(fylon @ Sep 9 2007, 01:21 AM) @pengster Wao,3.75GHz.Finally you hit it.I've updated on the first page. Well anyways, guys my new result.. Hit 3.75Ghz @ 3-4-4-8 timing. Gota lower then the timing to get this stable speed. Tried with 2.5-4-4-6 but unfortunately my system become not stable. QUOTE(KahLooN @ Sep 9 2007, 11:36 AM) @fylon I've updated already. I think 3-4-4-8 is the best you can set if wanna achieve higher speed. Maybe you can try change it to 2.5-4-4-8 juz for testing since dropping from 3 to 2.5 would juz give a minimal difference. @raymond Mind to change my system too? Team Xtreme 512mb x 2 Abit AI7 HIS x1950pro AGP @zeipher I guess still ok, perhaps try adding little voltage or loosen the ram timing? QUOTE(shinjite @ Sep 9 2007, 04:36 PM) That's why most P4 users are usually using the Hynix RAM for the mobos not the high performance RAM. QUOTE(shinjite @ Sep 10 2007, 12:42 AM) Last time Hynix D43 also got for high performance....but for high performance, ppl rather go for BH-5/UTT chipsets instead D43 chips seems like works better than the high performance RAM in majority but i've seems there are people who doesn't clock high on FSB even on high performance RAM.TCCD based RAM i think is seldom working good in our platform from what i seem and yet it's hot even only need low voltage to run on(This one i found on Opteron platform from my friend).BH5 wise the mobo need high voltage to support in high FSB while the UTT chip is rare to be found. D43 is more on the value rams.....well it depends on luck also ler, some of the Intel users can overclock higher with TCCD rams >.>" 270Mhz++ if I am not mistaken |

Ya the best value and performance chips is D43 chipset. It run nice on most of the P4 platform. Some the the D43 is managed to reach 260MHz+ .

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Sep 10 2007, 01:42 PM) Decided to give my BH5s one last try before I place it back into the storeroom. I think BH5 is preferring on 3.2 or 3.3V to run in high FSB.The higher the better but will suffer in heat generation. After 5 hours of continuous searching in forums, I read that problems for certain boards not being able to boot with BH5s is because of the low default voltage that it starts with. So the solution was to 'jumpstart' the RAM, by taking a cheap stick, setting a higher voltage then swapping it back. So far, able to do 250MHz 2-2-2-6 with a few problems, which the causes might probably be the heat generation, RAM slot order or wrong placement. My board won't boot up at 2-2-2-5 no matter what |
