The last solution maybe you need to use diveder, 3:2 or 5:4 so the system is not to dependent on the ram. smile.gif

I guess with divider you can get higher clocks? hmm.gif

Haha.. Looking for vdimm mod! tongue.gif Jk jk! Wont do that.. Too danger.. P4P800 Deluxe is rare board thou. Hm.. I guess the ram had reached it limits. Tried with 3:2 & 5:4 mange to boot the system up but cannot prime. Dont even 1mins prime then goes restart. Guess i better stay a 3.6Ghz lo.. Due i want to have 1:1 ratio and stable system! laugh.gif

but still,3.75Ghz is not bad already smile.gif

and now my rig keeps getting BSODs.happened twice today and once yesterday. doh.gif after 2 weeks no problem at 2.7Ghz this happens.haih.

p.s. yesterday's BSOD said something like this "memory write to read only memory" sweat.gif

Haha.. Nop! Now going back to 3.6Ghz the most stable setting. Due can push my memory timing to 2.5-4-4-6.. And i wanna keep at 1:1 ratio. biggrin.gif

Ic.. Hm.. Ya memory setting too tight? witting something to ROM? sweat.gif

I think 3-4-4-8 is the best you can set if wanna achieve higher speed. Maybe you can try change it to 2.5-4-4-8 juz for testing since dropping from 3 to 2.5 would juz give a minimal difference. smile.gif
@raymond
Mind to change my system too? biggrin.gif
Team Xtreme 512mb x 2
Abit AI7
HIS x1950pro AGP
@zeipher
I guess still ok, perhaps try adding little voltage or loosen the ram timing? smile.gif

I've updated already. biggrin.gif Bwtween really nice GC you have,1950 pro man how is it perform? drool.gif

That's what is limiting me......my RAMs can go higher 1...sigh
Compatibility not high with Intel...

That's why most P4 users are usually using the Hynix RAM for the mobos not the high performance RAM. sweat.gif

Hm.. Seems like not really a good option to get high performance ram huh? Haha.. Guess i have to changed my mind of getting better ram thou. laugh.gif

rclxub.gif rclxub.gif RAM timing 3, 3, 3, ,8.. divider??? dunno...hoew to check ahh?? (noob me) sad.gif

2 of the ram come with the mobo... it sticker say KRV400X64C3A/1G but i check on mobo it run 512Mb... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

later me upload the ram picture.. cry.gif

Last time Hynix D43 also got for high performance....but for high performance, ppl rather go for BH-5/UTT chipsets instead

D43 is more on the value rams.....well it depends on luck also ler, some of the Intel users can overclock higher with TCCD rams >.>" 270Mhz++ if I am not mistaken

You can check it inside the bios mode there.Or another easier way is to use the CPU-Z to check. biggrin.gif

D43 chips seems like works better than the high performance RAM in majority but i've seems there are people who doesn't clock high on FSB even on high performance RAM.TCCD based RAM i think is seldom working good in our platform from what i seem and yet it's hot even only need low voltage to run on(This one i found on Opteron platform from my friend).BH5 wise the mobo need high voltage to support in high FSB while the UTT chip is rare to be found. sweat.gif

wao....ram chipset again. for p4, the best price performance ram is d43, cheap and perform high speed at loose timing. Suit the best with p4. or if possible just get high rating ram like ddr433 ram etc. at least they can do something like 250 with loose timing.

Ya the best value and performance chips is D43 chipset. It run nice on most of the P4 platform. Some the the D43 is managed to reach 260MHz+ .

Decided to give my BH5s one last try before I place it back into the storeroom. smile.gif

After 5 hours of continuous searching in forums, I read that problems for certain boards not being able to boot with BH5s is because of the low default voltage that it starts with. So the solution was to 'jumpstart' the RAM, by taking a cheap stick, setting a higher voltage then swapping it back.

So far, able to do 250MHz 2-2-2-6 with a few problems, which the causes might probably be the heat generation, RAM slot order or wrong placement. My board won't boot up at 2-2-2-5 no matter what sad.gif

I think BH5 is preferring on 3.2 or 3.3V to run in high FSB.The higher the better but will suffer in heat generation. sad.gif BH5 is good at high FSB with tight timing. thumbup.gif

how about loosne a bit the timing like 2-3-3-6 etc? also the same?

need extra cooling then, but normally BH5 come with ramsink. maybe just add the fan blowing the ram will do. but only afew mobo come with 3.3v vdimm.

Ya usually they do come with Heatspreder. But it's still going to be hot and need a fan blowing on them.Er...I think colin's mobo can reach 3.3v on the vDimm right? His AI7....Last time i used to have it but not so sure on the highest vDimm it has.

Lol.. Now times for ram & chipset discussion? biggrin.gif Yea.. All those good ram needs higher voltage to operate. Too bad for my mobo max vidimm only 2.85v.. Nothing much i can do. No point to get performance ram thou. sad.gif

Our old school P4 is sensitive to the RAM,very few high performance RAM suits us and the high performance needs higher voltage too.

Yeah, my AI7 has options up to 3.3v for DDR voltage.

After many swaps of RAMs I found out that my Mosel Vitelic SAT5Bs cannot take 3.3v, doing so will cause BIOS checksum errors. My D43s and BH5s love getting abused, so 3.3v doesn't give any problems.

I paired the above RAMs and switched to an older BIOS that was supposingly friendlier with BH5 and wow, 250MHz 1:1 on 2.5-4-3-7 with partial PAT, 30 minutes stable. I couldn't believe it. A 10 (maybe 15) FSB gain just because of the BH5s, with reduction in timings! This achieved without my RAM coolers installed yet! biggrin.gif

So now I have a GB of memory plus the advantages of high FSB. This is just sweet. Unfortunately I can't run PAT fully enabled, seems the D43s can't stand the pressure compared to the BH5 biggrin.gif

Gonna run more tests to push it even more biggrin.gif

If D43, turn off PAT...it only hinders its overclocking capabilities

omg~~ 250mhz 1:1. drool.gif thats tasty!! maybe loosen a bit the timing can go further. smile.gif try 2.5-4-4-7. brows.gif push to 260mhz all the way. wahaha....
