City drivesSuv > sedan/ hatchback cos taller can see further ahead & very minor flood say 1 foot got slight height advantage
Also turbo > NA (small engines) for start stop traffic due to low end torque.

any of you do tinting to your car?
if yes, does the tinting overlaps with the pre-installed security tint? or do they remove it first? |

Mine just add on to the existing one.if yes, does the tinting overlaps with the pre-installed security tint? or do they remove it first? No major issues, aside from driver side front window inside started to peel, not because of my aftermarket tint, but because of the factory tint started to peel, thus having to go back to the shop adjust. |

QUOTE(someone_cs @ Oct 25 2022, 10:56 AM) arghhh. is diy safe? saw many videos and guide online >_< Well even most ppl will just replace that player with other better android player that support apple carplay and android auto. btw, does this affect the warranty? If yes, the whole or just the player? Seriuosly, that player that comes with the ativa is really crappy and fragile. Already a lot of cases where the back of the player plastic cracked. |

I would expect the factory tint has to be removed before installing the aftermarket ones.No major issues, aside from driver side front window inside started to peel, not because of my aftermarket tint, but because of the factory tint started to peel, thus having to go back to the shop adjust. How much was your tint and what brand btw? |

QUOTE(justnits @ Oct 29 2022, 03:12 AM) Its a Android HU, that you saw outside in any car accessories shop or in shopee. Doesn't necessary need to be branded or famous. I order it online and plug and play will do.Total cost = including the casing, the android player unit itself =RM850 more or less . Choose those android player call TS10 OR 7862 platform. As these 2 comes with powerful processor and chipset. d@odao liked this post

QUOTE(FrogBlob @ Oct 29 2022, 11:47 AM) cool how much you spent on this? apple carplay compatible? its around RM6xx when i bought it from shopee. it is carplay and android auto compatible. Normally im using bluetooth wireless. but sometimes if need to charging the phone, then i use back usb to connect it. question about your android auto, is it use back the ori usb ports? Yes, they finally invent the socket for Ativa to use back the ori usb ports. Heres the link. https://shopee.com.my/%F0%9F%94%A5READY-STO...ac-914d4b2925e0 d@odao liked this post

QUOTE(someone_cs @ Oct 29 2022, 05:05 PM) Cool. Similar to others. What's the brand and cost? Do you still need to plug to phone to Android auto/apple or via Bluetooth/wifi or something. Most android player that came from china is cap ayam brand. Because they have many factories produce so many models under they own in house brand. Normally when our phone is already bind with the car bluetooth, automatically our phone will prepare android auto and then i just open the app (Tlink/Carlink/Zlink) and android auto pops up on screen of player. (the concept same with iphone for apple carplay) Normally im using it wireless for city drive, but for long distance im using usb to charging the phone at the sametime. |

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 17 2022, 06:32 PM) City drives I disagree that an SUV's higher ride height provides a straightforward advantage over a sedan or hatchback.Suv > sedan/ hatchback cos taller can see further ahead & very minor flood say 1 foot got slight height advantage Also turbo > NA (small engines) for start stop traffic due to low end torque. Sure, if you value visibility from a higher ride height. But what also happens is, any obstacles/objects/children, that are short or low, become much more difficult to notice WHEN, you are close to these objects. In my old W203, I never realised this would be an issue until I started driving my Ativa. Now, I cant even tell if there's a safety cone or a curb next to me. The other day, while making a turn at IKEA's parking lot, I didnt realise I was close to the curb and lightly bumped my wheel against the curb. Driving since 2011 and that has never happened to me before. Every time i exit my condo, I have to make a 90 degree left or right turn and there's a plastic pole which I need be extra cautious that I don't scratch my sides against. Its really much harder to notice these things in the Ativa. I can only imagine this to be more difficult if driving a taller vehicle like a Fortuner. Lastly, driving position. Unless its a Merc or a BMW SUV, the driving position is never as good as something like a Vios or City. Been driving the Ativa for almost a year and my ankles and heels still ache from long drives. |
